Thanks Mek didn't know you had to be a certain degree of awesome to get the game
If you are really that scared of pink slip races do this:
Backup (copy) your game save to a flashdrive.
Do the pink slip race.
If you lose exit the game, delete the game save, copy your backup save from your flashdrive to your PS3 HDD.
I haven't tried it, but it should work.
Its a good idea to backup your game saves anyway. Never know when you will have a system crash or something and lose your progress. You can even copy them to your PC HDD so they don't suck up your flashdrive space.

The traffic screwing me up at the end was happening non-stop to me yesterday. I was pretty pissed off.heggs wrote:

I'm not really scared of them, I just didn't expect to lose the car when I turned off the PS3 (should've just left it on and then gone out with it paused, but don't like leaving it on like that)
They keep you on your toes

I've played online a few times. You have options so you don't have to race the faster cars. I think its same class race or something. What I hate it cars vs motorcycles. Bikes and cars are not supposed to race each other IMO. There are some guys who have the better cars and race against the slow cars. Its obvious they are not very good at the game, yet they think they are the shit.Mek-Stizzle wrote:
Nah, ain't gone online yet. No point tbh. I know everyone is going to have the best car so I'm just going to get owned straight away. Just like Burnout, everyone had the F1 car online so I hardly ever won cos I didn't have it yet. So I'm not gonna touch online until I actually have the best car, whatever that will be
I don't know what happened to my game. I won the Camaro concept, then the next day it was gone. I had to re-race for it. I don't believe I turned the autosave off. Not sure what happened so I've been backing my saves up after each session. The game seems a little buggy. I've had it crash on me many times now. Mostly when playing music from the HDD though.Mek-Stizzle wrote:

Yeah, the weird thing is, it didn't even save anywhere after I lost the car (seeing as I just turned it off), the last time it saved was when I had it. So I have no idea how the game knew that I turned off the console thus "forfeited" the race and lost my car
There is a warning that pops up when you do a pink slip that tells you that you will lose your car. Read it carefully next time, I think it mentions turning the system off. Maybe you lose your car when you accept the race, then win both cars when you win the race. That would explain how it works.Mek-Stizzle wrote:

What a gay night last night was
Ok, so I buy the Lancer Evo. Epic car. I easily thrash Lester and win back my RX8 (my one), and then I'm a cocky bastard so before I race him again for his RX8, I start making my Evo look nice - Turn it into an almost-replica of the famous Tommi Makkinnen Rally Car (pics coming if I'm bothered but wait read on) - So yeah, I take my nice Evo out and race him again (you can see where I'm going with this right), yeah I lose the race - I fuck up the last bit TOTALLY, I mean major fuck up because I was caught between two minds on a turn and just ended up hitting the wall and spinning out and then it took ages just to recover, so he ends up winning the race (fucker was so far behind me before aswell), and I lose my Evo.
So now, now I'm back to my RX8. Today I'll probably go and race him again for his RX8. Sell that and then try and win my Evo back. If that fails and I end up with my 1983 Golf, I'll just use whatever money I have to buy another fast car. Win back my Evo/RX8 and then sell it all off and then I dunno buy a Luxury Car and start doing those races.
This game is awesome.

Also, two things I've learnt.
1) It infact, does save, just after you agree to the "warning" about pink slip races. So it does know if you've turned off the console and so that's how I lost the car. Didn't notice it until now that it saves
2) You can turn off auto save, and then restart the PS3 if you're losing and it won't count as a loss and so you won't lose your car, but that's cheating

On a different note: I think I'm going to try to purchase every car in the game if I can. Maybe I can get the million dollar trophy, then immediately use all of that money to buy most of the cars.
Remember Me As A Time Of Day
Ok firstly I only used the WRC Evo for inspiration, I know it looks nothing like it, but I'm way too lazy to actually recreate the real thing. Secondly, It's all from memory, I didn't even use a reference photo. Last time I even saw a pic of one of them, must've been a few years ago (lol, seriously)
So yeah...
Anyway this is my current car (damn crappy quality)

Anybody know how to get the Audi R8?
The Audi R8 is exclusively unlockable via the Rockstar Social Club's Driving Test Challenge.{HMS}_Sir_Del_Boy wrote:

Word. Considering I just bought a 67" Sammy LED DLP... would be a bad move.
How do I take screenshots (360 version, though I'd assume the PS3 version is similar)?
Pause the game where you'd like to take the photo, then use the analogue stick to move the camera around. When you have moved the camera, you are officially into photo mode. There should be a legend on the bottom that tells you what buttons do what.Poseidon wrote:

Yeah, this game gets fucking hard after a while. It took my friend and I several tries, several "FUCK THIS SHITTY ASS GAME" moments, and random yelling before we finally unlocked/beat a torney for a DUB car, huge cash prize, etc.heggs wrote:

It's worth it though, you sort of feel rewarded at the ending after you finally beat whatever your stuck on.
Once you guys hit the appropriate level, buy the Kawasaki bike, it's the fastest and best handling vehicle in the game, and it's only $17k.
Once you get used to dodging traffic (even moreso than before), you can smoke anyone. For example, I've got it basically stock, and I figured "What the hell" and did the Lambo Dub race series and beat it on the first try. This was about 1.5 hours after I had been playing around with the bike to get used to it, though. Keep in mind this race was on the Hard difficulty, and this was my first Hard race, so I felt pretty good about it.
I agree with you there TopHat01, every race seems to be a huge accomplishment because the game can be so difficult sometimes, but I love that feeling of finally completing a series that I couldn't beat before.

Haven't gotten to play it that much, but beat Nikoli and unlocked the charger. Not sure if I want to keep upgrading my 240 or start with the muscle car. Prolly just keep the 240 for the moment. I like the handling and have got the drifting down pretty well for cornering.
Its a great game, but I've had the "fuck this" moment way too many times.
Raced Nikoli on hard, just for the hell of it, and was right behind him with the finish line like 200 freaking yards away. I was catching is draft and was just about to boost and take the win, when some fuck in some random car came out of nowhere to Nikoli's left and caught my left headlight. Needless to say, I lost. I quit for a few days after that.
Looking to get some racing in tonight.
