Mirrors Edge Demo thoughts.

just downloaded and played the demo for Mirrors Edge and i thought it was pretty good, it all flowed well from section to section which i didnt expect from a game that was trying to virtually recreate parkour. Overall i am impressed, has a nice feel to it with a lot of freedom, sure you have to get to a certain place, but your route seems extremely variable. The graphics are clean and it s anice game to look at, and lastly, as i said before it flows really well.

P.S. i did a search and only found Mirrors Edge gameplay video and general threads so thought this deserved another, if i missed a demo thread, apologies.

It didn't seem like the routes had a lot of options to me. Seemed like you pretty much had to head towards the red objects. I thought the demo was OK. I'll give it a rental, but I doubt its a purchase.

on the section just after the training, i wasnt listening to what i had to do and ran in a random direction

all of the routes you can take meet up for certain points that you have to do, but inbetween these parts it is quite varied, but in the big picture it is relatively linear, yes

Idk, as awesome as the concept and graphics and flow and gameplay and all sound I wont buy it on the principle that freerunning and parkour in video games should give you total freedom. Otherwise it's just basically a series of quicktime events/an on rails platformer.

You happened to choose an upload that had bad framerates.

On topic:

I just played the 360 demo after seeing this thread, it's AWESOME. It's too bad my T.V. is only a 27" that's been around since I was born. I would probably get it for the PC instead of 360. I don't feel like paying 5-10$ console tax and my comp can probably play with better settings than standard def and I can still use the 360 controller anyway if they programmed it to work seamlessly like most multi-port games are these days.

Ya rly. I thought it was incredible. Everything was awesome. The graphics, the simple controls, etc.

It's too bad it'd probably have low replay value.
