i want this game! But...I'm so cheap, I need a really good reason to spend $50 ($60?) on a game. Hey, some people gotta eat ok...

Anyway, not to steal the show, but anybody still play CnC Generals/Zero Hour? I got that game still installed, and there's like, 10 people playing it

Well have you played RA2?

If you did and liked it, that's enough reason.

RA3 has some minor annoyances, but overall it's awesome.

I went to Best Buy, looked at it and said no. I've owned every CnC game to date, and it's just not the same. I also heard bad things about the authorization thing and how simple hardware changes count as an extra authorization and after 5 you have to call EA at $2.50 a minute to be granted extra authorizations=not cool.

I loved Red Alert 2, and RA3 is basically the same, but upgraded.

But yeah, the SecureROM thing is retarded.

Especially since it does absolutely nothing to stop people from cracking the game.

It's just an annoyance to legit customers.

I heard they only did it because their recent release of a game in September (I can never remember the name...) had 500,000 illegal downloads in the first week after its release...I guess if half a million copies of a game that sells for $50 new got stolen I'd be pretty pissed as a company too, but it sucks this is how they thought they could fix it.
