What? There are numerous downloadable games on the PSN to play.... What are you talking about here?VicktorVauhn wrote:

Your joking right? 20gig for $499? they don't even sell those anymore, except refurbished.bad-man wrote:

And as of right now, the 80GB PS3 is $399. You need new information... From last year lol give me a break
Seriously OP, get the PS3 for the long run.
That is my personal choice. Just because it's my personal choice doesn't mean it's right/wrong. "I" think it's better because more of my friends are on xbox live than anything else. To me it has better games and there's more people on xbl than psn. So therefore i think it's better because it is the most vast and popular console network out there.Miggle wrote:

To be honest I don't really see what's so much better about XBL than PSN, but Xfire beats them both.
why is XBL better than PSN?
You can't even compare PC to 360 and PS3 So why would you even do that? This is a thread about consoles, not PC's.
It double posted on it's own. I posted once. Saw it posted twice. Deleted one of them and they both got deleted so i posted it again.War Man wrote:

I've went through this already. If you absolutely love the Nintendo franchises, Wii...but real Mario and Zelda games are being pumped out pretty slowly. With that in mind, I considered the X360 and the PS3. The 360 has some decent games, but none that I expect won't be ported to the PC, whereas the PS3 has great Blu-ray and free online access. Honestly, I've been collecting more BR movies than PS3 games, but the lineup's decent too.
I'd say PS3.
I'd say PS3.
Yeah the most important factor I think is that most Xbox games you can find on the Pc, and when you do, you can play them online for free.
Another note is that you can do folding@home (on free net capability) on the PS3, as long as you have it suspended in the air with a giant fan blowing on it. That sucker gets hot; even the 65nm edition.

I have heard plenty of people talk about downloading leaked 360 games before they come out and what not.
PS3, only because we have less annoying 12 year olds screaming into their mics. Half the time the mics don't work, IMO it's great, and it should be an advertised feature of the PS3.
Although, Sony has discontinued backwards compatibility, and has reduced the amount of USB ports from 4 to 2, so you should look on eBay for an older 80GB one (I got the 80GB pack that came with MotorStorm, now they come w/ MGS4 I think) or just keep your PS2 for the older titles. The only you'll use the USB ports for is controller charging, maybe a small keyboard, and USB Headset (most people have BlueTooth ones, if you have one for your cell phone it'll work with your PS3).
lolwii. My friend has a PS3 and a Wii, we've used the Wii about 5 times, every other time it's the PS3. It's fun for a while, and then just gets old fast. Then again, I haven't played Mario Cart or anything besides Wii sports, so I can't really judge it.
If you had a PS2, you'll feel more at home on the PS3 (controller is the same, so X, O, Triangle, and Square all still apply) and you won't have to spend half your time relearning buttons (Something like A = X, etc.).

I don't have either, so I'm entering this flame war completely nude (as opposed to Mek and his boxers)... anyways, I'm definitely looking at getting a PS3. Blu-ray movies look awesome, I've already bought MGS4, I love the Ratchet and Clank series, and any other games I want are on both consoles (Rock Band, GTA). The main thing for me though is that I also had a PS1 and PS2 (no I'm not a fanboy though), and I've still got those games lying around and still play them to this day, so I'm going to be looking around for a backwards-compatible system on eBay. Plus, I've got a PSP, and hacked it as well, so lately I've been playing PS1 games on it. Transferring them to my memstick is a hassle, and I don't even have enough room to hold them all; now imagine if I just threw them all on the PS3 and played them from there. Free up tons of space and can play anything I want. Also, I imagine with some simple soft-modding I could rip PS2 games onto the HDD and play those games as well. I'm looking forward to saying goodbye to discs and just having everything in one place (same goes for movies and music, though you can play those directly from a PC).
What it boils down to is that I want the PS3 because it's more than a console, but basically the entire living-room multi-media center.

I went through this debate myself right before summer and I ended up buying a PS3. So far, I love it. Just from playing with friends, my PS3 freezes a LOT less than the xbox and I don't know if this is still an issue with the 360, but a lot of them seem to get that red ring of death and need to be replaced with refurbs. I've never had a problem communicating anything online with my mic, and I enjoy the extra money in my pocket for not having to pay. The Blu-ray feature is a definite plus since the players alone still cost hundreds of dollars, and personally, I think the whole sixaxis controller thing is really cool. Kind of combining the good features of the Wii with a conventional controller.
And one of my favorite things about the PS3....
PLUS, when you're listening to music on the console, you can use the AMAZING earth visualization, which is just awesome to watch or have in the background if you have people over or something.

HA, I use one for my external hard drive. You can put all the movies and music that you've downloaded (in the right format, that is) onto a drive (or copy them right onto the console if you want) and watch them on your TV through your PS3. The quality is around that of DVD, but hey, I'm not going to complain if I'm not paying for them.TopHat01 wrote:

My mom bought a wii... maybe its because she only has the games that come with it but the motion detect kinda sucks... It just barely tells if you are swinging the controller, really not the level of interactiveness I was expecting. The boxing is fun though:DTopHat01 wrote:

I don't really think the 2 usb ports are a big deal... maybe because I only have 1 controller, but how often are all 4 gonna die at once?
The backwards compatibility does kinda suck... but I am pretty much done with my PS2 games anyways.
Your right about being used to the controller, only the PS3 one is many times better (even though I was so used to wired controllers that I kept trying to swing the "cord" that wasn't there out of the way when I got up, and then felt dumb when I realized it was wireless)
I just went ahead and bought a 160gig 2.5in drive and installed it in the PS3. It doesn't void warrenty, and there are even instructions in the manual. BTW in stead of using your external, if you have all the stuff on your computer you can just set it up to stream to the PS3.sexecuti0ner wrote:

They added a wider range to both sticks making them travel through a greater angle, giving you more controll between max and min. they also made the R2 and L2 into triggers. It feels about the same to use, but you really notice the difference when you go back to PS2.

PS3, because with the exception of the HDMI cable, when you get it home with whatever game you bought. That is you good to go. I dont so much mind the cost of live, it's that stupid adapter they charge you silly money for to get it wireless.
All these additions do add up, and, it's more of a piss take than anything else.
