ok so i have heard good things about both (even though fallout 3 is not out) but im not very picky when it comes to gaming its just i HATE it when i spend $60 and only get about 14 hours out of the game. Fable is known for its short gameplay but i have not heard anything about fallout 3. Which one would you buy and which one has the longest MAIN STORY.
Fallout 3 for sure will have a longer story, especially for PC because of the Mods that will be available. but fable will have more things to to i guess eg get married have kids ect
Fallout 3, imo. I've never been into either genre of games, but Fallout 3 has had me addicted for so long (as you can tell). And I never even played the original Fallout.
And btw, Fallout 3 supposedly has a 100 hour storyline, and that's just for one karma line. There's 3 - bad, good and neutral.

100 hours with all the side quests and shit, 40 hours for the main storyline, with 200 endings.
Umm... Fable kinda has three endings, depending on a certain choice you make A very hard fucking choice too... Bastards... Also, if you want to end up king of Albion in Fable 2 you apparently need to own more than half the buildings in the game or something, which would probably take a few days of gaming even with the rent exploit. That's ignoring the Gargoyle quest and the Archaeologist, though I don't think the Archaeologist quest is that long (yet to complete). Not to mention the hilarity the towns provide. I remember Molyneux being quoted somewhere saying that Fable 2 had around 100 hours of game time total. Fuck, you have to play the game twice just to see how the towns turn out depending on how you act.Poseidon wrote:

In my opinion both are probably worth getting.
Just buy Fable 2/Fallout 3 second hand, in January/Feburary when it will be cheap.
Hope I can get my mits on a copy of Fallout 3 soon. I pre-ordered Fable, should have done the same with Fallout.
Wonder how Dogmeat will stack up against the dog in Fable 2?

Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
Fallout 3
Get Fallout 3 I guess, kinda dissapointed with Fable, you can go from good to evil in like 2 seconds. You don't have to play it through twice cause the difference is just stupid. I loved The Lost Chapters though, so play that throgh one more time .
i would go with fallout
Fable II
you have fable?!?! play with me fucker! ...*cough* i mean, we should play later
O_o
Personally I think either one you choose you will be happy with based on what I have read and demos I've seen. I am personally more excited about fallout 3. In terms of the main story line I think it is going to be longer expecially if you factor in the three different ways to play it (good, bad, and nuetral).
Since both will have pretty long story lines just watch some videos and see which one catches your eye and then when you are done playing it buy the other second hand like flecco said above.

Friend has it, I just played for a couple of hours when he was gone .krazed wrote:

Umm.... The difference it makes to Westcliffs, Oakfields, the Temples and Bowerstone Old Town is quite big tbh.Eldu wrote:

Actually a massive difference for Westcliffs and Bowerstone tbh.

Even though I think Bethesda is going to do only a fair job with Fallout 3, I'd still take it over any other game out right now.
