'Early talk of an uninterrupted open world is sadly is a little wide of the mark, with small loading screens punctuating the action, giving the Xbox 360 we tested the game on a little room to breathe as it endeavoured to bring the ambitious visuals to the screen. Indeed, the console frequently creaks under the weight that Ubisoft Montreal has placed upon it, and all too often our immersion in the world was broken as objects crept into the scenery – a number of times we found ourselves heading into a completely blank screen, having to wait a few moments for the surroundings to stutter into place.'

Sounds like the 360 is being pushed to its limit, as it needs time to breathe when playing this.

Albeit it's not open world, Dead Space imo has some pretty similar graphics and it runs fine with absolutely no framerate drop for me (on the 360).

Well then that changes everything...

You're not seriously comparing a game like Dead Space to Far Cry 2 in terms of performance now are you?

What about the PS3? any problems on that? The blu ray drive is even slower than the DVD drive in the 360, so I'm guessing that there's another install for the PS3 version

I don't get loading screens unless I die...

The developers claims that the pc and xbox would be equal are seeming a bit untrue now.

Sucks for xbox users.

It's got one hell of an engine and graphics workload to work with (and is probably the best looking console game I've ever played), so yeah, I am.

I'd actually say it's got better graphics than Far Cry 2 (non-DX10). Including the lighting.

Like I said, sure...it's not open world. But for it to have what it does and have absolutely no framerate drops is pretty impressive.
