Since the search on this game returned absolutely nothing, I'll assume a great deal of you don't have any idea this game exists. WipEout HD is a PS3 (exclusive?) futuristic racing game. I've never been a big fan of racing games, but I can't get enough of this one for some reason. I downloaded this game from PSN about a week ago for $20 on the recommendation of a friend and I've never been happier with such a modestly priced game.
Here are some screenshots taken with the in-game Photo Mode:
I did not take these pictures, this guy did.
Some cool features of the game:
-Renders in 1080p
-Trophies
-Online play
-In-game photo mode is pretty fun and creates really cool pictures
-Zone mode (youtube it to see what I'm talking about)
-It's only $20
-A variety of race types, tracks, ships, weapons, and difficulty levels
The only bad thing I really ever hear about this game is that it has a pretty high learning curve. But personally, I didn't have any trouble getting gold medals the first day I played it, and my racing game history consists of a few Burnout titles. Now that I've gotten into it more, it has become much more difficult, but in a good way imo. You can still do well, but you need to know the tracks really well, hit all the boost pads, and take the best lines possible. I can't remember the last time I was this challenged by a game and had more fun getting better.
The only thing that pisses me off about this game is that I'd never heard of it before last week. So if this is your first time hearing of it as well, check it out. If anyone else plays, feel free to add me and we can wreck shop online sometime
