That's a good question. I think Gears of War would have the better single player, but mp would definitely be Cod5.

Although I don't have high hopes for CoD:WaW being brilliant I've just never seen the value of Gears of War. It just seems, (to quote Peter Griffin quoting somone else,) shallow and pedantic.

CoD 5 by far, I can't stand Gears.
I think CoD5 and Gears will both have excellent SP campaigns, but Gears' MP will be superior due to the new Horde mode.
I'm getting both, how can you possibly hate gears? SP is brilliant imo
CoD5 is expected to disappoint. I can't see how you can avoid Gears of War. The game is epic and there was a cliffhanger at the end of the first. Get Gears if you're getting a game early. If not, wait for reviews.
