Of course firstly that problem of being a console game. Console controllers are awful.
That's simple preference, and the millions of console owners worldwide would disagree
Except they generally haven't used a mouse. Think about it, mice exist to point and click. What are you doing in an FPS?
probably not true, i cut my teeth on computer gaming, and i'm the "average" gamer
but even for that the vehicles are completely overpowered in multiplayer. I was playing Blood Gulch a while back and was completely destroying some of the "pr0s" in the ghost? banshee? idk the flying thing.
totally not true, anyone in any vehicle instantly becomes a marked target for anyone with common sense
Hardly, the guys with the highest kill streaks generally got them in vehicles
100% not true, the majority of good maps rely little on veh's
I don't like how it has changed the video game market towards largely hyped but largely shit games. Where money is spent on pre-rendered trailers and advertisement rather than on game development.
Game devs are in the market to make money, lose the silly notion the big ones give two shits what most of us think
True, there's no real solution to this, but it's upsetting
agreed
I don't like the awful rank system. I was at Arlington Cemetery on a school trip, one of the kids saw a brigadier general's grave, he was talking to my friend and he said something along the lines of "that guy was a brigadier general, like a brigadier in halo, he must have been like, in charge of the army"
and BF2/COD/Any ranked FPS is any better? Weak point tbh
Um, yeah... They used a ranking system that was pretty close to the real one. They didn't just take the current ranks and throw them in no specific order and remove a few words
so the kid you met was a retard, nothing more
I don't like the grenades. Often I'll be moving in to bash someone, he'll toss a grenade, and I'll kill him, but the grenade will kill me.
Waaay less nade spam in Halo - Dual wielding solves this v.well
I still see a large reliance on grenades in halo 3...
not really at all tbh. x items play a far bigger role than nades, along with weapon choice
I don't think the story is very different from any other science fiction book, movie, or game.
Just like any game out there
not really, but I will agree, a lot of games do have bland stories
the vast majority of game stories are bollocks
I don't like how it is seen as one of the best FPS games ever, when it's not best at anything, Gameplay, Multiplayer, Graphics, Plot, anything.
sheer sales + user satisfaction prove you wrong
Graphics? well it's using xbox hardware so no, it's 720p so no. Gameplay? well there's not really much change from halo 1, but I can't really argue this because it's all personal preference. Multiplayer? well it's on a console for starters, XBL costs $50 a year more than my online does, it tends to be a lot more laggy than my pc games do, and it's got the huge balance problems I was talking about earlier. Plot? well there are definitely games with more engaging storylines, but if you want good storyline go read a book (preferably not a halo one)
Halo 3 can play in full HD actually, the Xbox compensates for it.If you break down gameplay, Halo 3 is very very different from Halo 1. So you get your net connection for free then? The Halo books are actually quite good
I don't like when people consider themselves to be good at aiming when the computer does half the work for them.
sticks are a massive disadvantage, And Halo hardly has the most intrusive auto aim out there
I know, but it still has auto aim, and It's definitely noticable
No more noticable than any other console FPS i've played - CoD4 has one of the worst, and even that takes a fair degree of skill
I don't like the kids that it attracts, though it is sometimes fun to make fun of them on XBL.
this is a XBL wide problem, ever tried CoD4/PGR?
CoD4, yes, PGR, no. This is a problem with parenting though, the kids shouldn't be getting M games until after puberty.
Some of the worst XBL experiences i've had have been on PGR
