66C orthos temp with boxed cooler is not really that much of a big deal tbh. If you want lower, you might want to try reseating the cooler twisting it a few times left-right-left before pushing the pins tight. And using a proper thermal paste helps too.some_random_panda wrote:

Hopefully my cpu won't be 100%, but we'll see.
Run the GPU client too anyways. That Radeon should do over 2k PPDsome_random_panda wrote:

Alright, but I do have an internet cap.DeathUnlimited wrote:

Damn aussie telcom.
Damn F@H is a little disappointing. I thought there'd be more than just a black background and this roatating lump, but it seems that my ATI card means that I don't get any of the pwetty gwaphics in the background.

FAH isn't exactly intended to be graphically pleasing. Plus, showing that drastically reduces your PPD.some_random_panda wrote:

Internet cap is probably not a problem. If your GPU runs really fast, it might use 100MB a day. Usually not over 50. CPU might send/recieve about 10MB a day.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
How often do the stats update?
Depends on the tracker. I think it's each 12h on the official tracker (max can confirm?), and the others are more fluent, all from live, ranging to something like the official one.some_random_panda wrote:

most stats sites are updates every 3 hours
the official site is supposed to be more or less realtime, external sites update every 3h

keep up the good work guys
Making 7400PPD right now
Another 2400 will come when I get my 3870 up and running.

Well I'm using the CPU client with E8500.
But that is only because I am worried about my internet cap which is about 11GB I think. And I usually go over it anyway. Can I use another client and not really affect my bandwidth?

Is there any client that will run on a 7 series card? I ask because my m8 is getting a new pc next week and he'll be getting rid of his 7900gs, and I have a spare computer set up with a 3500+ but integrated video, and the 100ppd (or less?) that a 3500 can pull isn't really worth the electricity.
SMP will probably use less than the standard CPU client.Adams_BJ wrote:

A 3500+ can do a good 200PPD. My 3200+ is currently making 180. GPU client won't run on a 7 series card, I'm afraid, so you're out of luck there.GGF0RCE wrote:

Highest ever personal and and team production in the last 24h . Ignore that spike in the beginning of the month, that was due to a stats outage.
On a single core of my X2 I'm currently doing 243ppd
The SMP client takes about a day or more per work unit. Each SMP WU is somewhere between 2 and 5MB download and 5MB and 20MB (for the 2 day ones) upload. That's something like 240MB down and 600MB up per month. Still far away from your capAdams_BJ wrote:

Running the GPU client
<3
The GPU client needs even less according to my calculations. For my it's about 14MB down and 360MB up per month per 8800GT running 24/7. I don't run 24/7 though since you always loose an hour per day or so due to the time it spends getting new work, rebooting the machine, ...

Downloading a client atm, hope it's the right one.
Had a glance over all of this before hand, still alien to me tbh
But we'll see how it goes, still on an Athlon64 4000 @ 3ghz, so shouldn't get that much, but it's something at least >.>
Just got a 7950GT, so no GPU client i'm afraid =[
(I'll edit when i inevitably come up against a problem...)
EDIT: Problem, FahMon won't monitor anything, where exactly do you have to point it to? Mines at
"Program Files (x86)\Folding@home\Folding@home-x86"
Tried it with just the folding@home folder, but it didn't work either... I'd quite like to know how much it's doing...
Anyone help?
Further Edit: Found it nvm =p
Works now!
Edit AGAIN: Jus opened the messages window on FahMon to get a repeated:
"[02/10/08 - 21:22:01] Reloading CPU
[02/10/08 - 21:22:01] CPU has an unknown state (Unable to find a complete frame)
[02/10/08 - 21:22:01] Cannot determine frame number for CPU (this isn't a problem)
[02/10/08 - 21:22:01] CPU [ETA] | avg=N/A | last=N/A"
Anything I should do? It still hasn't started registering anything on the FahMon, and I assume this is the problem...
