Can't wait. One of my most anticipated games of the year. I think I might actually get into the MP this time.

Halo is bad, the way it is hyped up would make anyone think it is better than god.

It is a sub-par fps; just better than most of the below-sub-par fps that xbox players are used to so they jizz all over it.

I think the first Gears was amazing at the time. It was the first time we got a *proper* next gen game. Amazing graphics, amazing new play mechanics (cover system anyone?), brilliant atmosphere, fun gameplay.

Now though people just think of it as a repeatative linear shooting game, because every game since then has been a copy+paste.

And as a result i'm not psyched about 2 at all just now. I'll probably play it eventually.

I stopped playing the first one a few hours in (on PC, PS2 is my only console ) because I just got bored. Sure to begin with the graphics were pretty and the cover system was pretty neat. But the whole game is just going cover to cover. Got old quick.

Well I think by the time the PC version came out most of the novelty had worn off already.

And yes it does get a boring. My biggest complaint. Every battle felt the same. Hide, shoot, hide, shoot.

However when it was first released it didn't matter. It was an experience.

That, plus the fact that Halo 3 wasn't really linear at all.

The variety of missions and different objectives..

Do you guys not understand what linear means?

I enjoyed the Halo 3 campaign, despite being a little short and lacking knowledge from the main storyline (which I have caught myself back up with now) but seriously, it was very good and fun with friends too.

And I am looking forward to the Mythic Map Pack (y)

i don't get this whole e-fad/warrior thing about halo1-3 were shit.

I think it's safe to say based on a)total sales, b)active players and c)reviews that the series was pretty far from shit.

Also, most of the people saying it's shit, probably haven't even played it/own a xbox.

Annoys me tbh.

Yep. Most of the Halo hate is almost completely baseless. I enjoyed the SP campaigns of all 3 although I don't really play the MP. The only thing I'd really agree with is that it's overrated. Of course it is. So is MGS4. Doesn't make either any less of a good game though.

edit: fuck salt

even if it's overrated, its still the best FPS console game i've ever played.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Campaign and I think it is definately one of the better campaigns I have played of any game. Legendary mode is what makes the Campaign the most enjoyable experience though. You're missing out on the multiplayer too Pose - its amazing fun, I'm constantly playing it now
