I use a debit card, only because I am only 16 and don't have a credit card. I'm pretty sure credit cards are more secure with buyer protection and all though

But either way, I'm 15 and use pure Debit.

Yeah, but I think at our banks, you sign up for joint, then immediately you can remove the join.

You can get a bank account from 10 yrs old(and younger) AS LONG AS, you have it joint to your Parent/Guardian.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think you can also un-join it from your parents right after creating it, but for a 10-14 yr old, it helps, cuz yer parents can give you monies without too much hassle.
