When I run the gpu client, it only uses 25-35% of the gpu core. How can I make it use more? Right now I'm getting terrible ppd. (619 on an HD 4850)

That CPU coulld probably make around 1500PPD.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

From reading the instructions in the original post, using fahmon seemed idiot proof, but I can't get it to work on my machine...both the CPU and GPU clients are working, but fahmon doesn't display anything.  Oh well at least the important stuff is working.

Did you add the clients to FahMon?

EDIT:
With the newest CPU client, I had to point fahmon to C:\Documents and Settings\Name\Application Data\Folding@home-x86, not to C:\FAH\[CPU #]...

Not sure if I misread the directions, but everything seems to work now...

But instead of fahmon listing 3 CPUs and a GPU, I simply have 1 CPU listed and 1 GPU...the CPU is at approx. 800 ppd, though, so I'm assuming all 4 cores must be working.

I think all the directions max typed up on the first page of this thread are completely useless now.  The new CPU client is easier to set up and you don't have to make the separate folders for each core or anything.  Or maybe it's just that way with the SMP client, not sure.

Agreed, its all out of Date. One of the links to the downloads are wrong- either that, or the instructions are wrong, as they make no sense what-so-ever.

Well I assume that just about everybody folding for BF2s has a dual core CPU, meaning they will most definitely want to use the SMP client because it gives you much more PPD.  So while those directions are extremely well written and organized, I think they are obsolete.

To set up SMP client...

1.  Download and install the CPU client from link in OP
2.  Go to install directory and run install.bat
3.  Enter in your Windows account info (name and password) as prompted
4.  Create shortcut for folding@home executable (located in install directory) and add -smp to the target.
5.  Run the shortcut you just created
6.  Enter in F@H user name, F@H team number (137764), and leave passkey blank (just follow the prompts)
Note:  Must have password on account for SMP client to run.

The GPU client is the same as the one explained in the OP I believe.

I cannot open it via shortcut, I have to use command prompt.
