If you leave your PS3 folding 24/7 you should be able to pull ahead. A PS3 does about 6000-7000 points per week

Don't get too excited, I went away for 4 days and did not fold at all, so that's why it's showing you will overtake in 30 days. Now I'm back and folding *almost* 24/7 so hopefully I can secure my spot again

I just installed the new 177.84 CUDA drivers from the Nvidia site and that didn't help. I also reinstalled the FaH GPU client. This is how it's been since I got the new 6.20 version. The SMP client is working fine.

Specs = Vista Home Premium x64, 8800GTS 512MB

Help?

OK this is weird. I just noticed a Folding@Home icon on my start menu. Fully expecting it to give me the error I get when I run the actual executable, I try it anyways, and it works. Now this icon on the start menu is of course a shortcut and it's target is C:\Users\Matt\AppData\Roaming\Folding@home-gpu\

There is a file called FahCore_11.exe in that directory and I guess that's what it's running.

So basically if I go to my C:\Program Files (x86)\Folding@home-gpu directory and run [email protected], I get the error. But if I use the start menu icon, it loads up and goes to work no problem. WTF?

Core 11 is what does the actual work

The shortcut should have "C:\\program files\folding@home\folding@home-gpu\[email protected]" as a target and "C:\Users\Matt\AppData\Roaming\Folding@home-gpu\" as a start in directory.

sometimes the client fucks up. Try deleting FahCore_11, queue.dat and the work folder. Usually that fixes any problems

If you're still having problems try wiping the driver and reinstalling it

It says I have done 531 WUs and have about 167,000 points. metal_storm/menzo has done 192 WUs and has about 101,000 points. Are his WUs worth more than mine or something?

Well, WUs have different values. CPU client WU's are like 100-250 points, nvidia GPU WU's are 480 or in the 200's, SMP client WU's are almost 2000.

Depends on the combination of clients you use and the WU's they get.

Hmm, my GPU does give me 480 points per WU, but FahMon is reporting only 243 points per WU for my SMP client so something is wrong there.

there are a few low point SMP WUs. What project are you running? You can check the values of the projects here

checking the value, you aren't running the smp client. Remember to use the -smp flag
