EA takes series "back to its roots" with cop chases and live-action ladies

EA has released the first proper details on Need for Speed: Undercover, which'll no doubt sit somewhere near the top of this Christmas's sales chart.

After the disappointing Pro Street, Undercover takes the NFS series "back to its roots" says EA, with high-speed pursuits with rivals while dodging the old blues 'n twos to take down an International crime syndicate. All whilst undercover, obviously.

There's 80 miles of road to explore in the open-world Tri-City Bay area, says EA, and a totally new AI mechanic which delivers "aggressive and intelligent cops whose sole purpose is to take down the player quickly and by any means necessary."

The new game also introduces an all-new 'Heroic Driving Engine', a unique technology that generates "incredible high-performance moves at 180 miles per hour". We've no idea what this means.

Of course you can also expect tons of car customization, vehicle damage and licensed motors such as the Audi R8, BMW M6 and Lexus IS-F.

It's out in North America on November 18 and in Europe on November 21.

Carbon and ProStreet were from what I hear from a lot of people (although Carbon looked OK) but yeah, I had NFSU2 on the 360 (was my first game ... it came with it) and it kicked ass.

Firstly, I'm not a big fan of racing games, they tend to just be the same thing over and over, even open world ones like burnout paradise.

Secondly, I don't like need for speed. I had all of them from NFS3 to UG2 (came in a pack) And the only decent one was Hot Pursuit 2, which I beat in 2 days.

And pre-rendered trailers are a perfectly good reason not to want a game. If it's so good, why not show us in game footage perhaps? Generally games with pre-rendered trailers (Final Fantasy, Bioshock, etc.) Don't end up being my favorites.

If you want to show off your game, then why do you use stuff that's not in your game? As I said before, movie trailers have movie footage, yet game trailers have pre-rendered shit that has very little to do with the actual game.

A bit generalizing, aren't we? If I recall correctly, The Dark Knight's first trailer was just a Batman symbol along with Alfred/Caine, Bruce/Bale and others speaking, along with a picture of a Joker card and the Joker's laugh.

And that trailer made the movie-world go insane.

Not to mention that's quoting the movie, and it was the teaser, which basically exists to let you know the movie is coming.

...And what I said completely kills your argument. This is ONE TRAILER. One of two announcement trailers, from what I've seen. I'm POSITIVE they'll release trailers with gameplay, later.
