The more 'realistic' FPS games just seem to suck the life and soul out of a game- you know. The most fun I've ever had in a realism-focused game is Americas Army, which was stupified and simplified a lot from the army sim version.

I don't play any of those games (ArmA, Combat Arms, whatever). I just don't see what the big deal is about this game...

Some of us like more tactical shooters over the spammy, 10 second life, nade whoring, trainwrecks, that a majority of the current fps games are nowadays.

Personally I like to think in a game. More so if the rewards are there for doing so. Like playing the SPY back in the beginnings of TF2. I did'nt get many kills or points. But it was fun to outsmart enemies, then to just engage em head on.

Also Look at PR. My favorite Map is basrah because it combines the Major schools of FPS gameplay in such a way that both player bases are satisfied.

Of course, that's why we have run and gun (or demolish for you pyromaniacs) shooters and more team-based tactical approach games, to appeal to all gamers. We all play to have fun, it just may be a different fun. I know it's epic to have a convoy formation of Abrams, but TF2 is great fun just frying people.

It looks awesome. I had the original OFP with all the packs.

OFP is a different type of shooter, your mission can all depend on your teammates surviving. Dave is right, you have to plan.

Will this one feature an impossible fourth mission where I have to travel single handed 2KM alone against a tank, BMP and two infantry squads with a tractor?

ArmA II is based on the same engine as VBS2 and is developed by the original devs of ofp (Bohemia Interactive Studios). OFP 2 is being developed by the publishers of ofp (Codemasters) and not the original devs.
