people have made 'blogs' and 'graphic design websites' which have pretty much failed (tazz, ers, entertayner or w/e). people will look at and be like 'thats nice; now to never visit or care of it again' its just a waste of time and effort which leads to your own self satisfaction for a short time, where the effort put in outweighs the benefits (which of, there is none)
just use it to stash terabytes and terabytes of porn (much benefits)
or make a file mirror that helps everybody, think of something that benefits the community, not a page about yourself unless its contact details like my own one
moveless.weebly.comwhich is a dud that i made in 5 mins. (if only it could stash porn)
If we made portfolio sites for you, that would be just hilarious. tbh, i made mine (which is still under construction, so making) to
1) Learn more about web design and creation
2) Time Waster
3) Something that future employers might see...
4) Other graphic designers, as we all do look at each others work, and give our comments, which we all value greatly, as it improves us and builds us to even better graphic designers.
So what im trying to say, is that although common folk do go and have a look, and say "oh thats nice" and never go again, us graphic designers, so go back, time and time again, to see just what they have done recently, and go "Oh thats fancy" many times.
I hope this summed things up.
