I have a question, my destroyer has the standard 4 mounting points and then 4 other ones, why cant I mount anymore launchers on it?
Fit guns on a destroyer.
so i can only have 4?
? I assume you're talking about the thrasher, which has 7 or 8 gun hardpoints. Take a look at the info for the ship.SgtHeihn wrote:

Every ship has a certain amount of turret and launcher hardpoints. So for instance, if your ship has 8 high slots, 4 turret and 2 launcher hardpoints then you can fit 4 guns and two rocket launchers and you will have two open high slots. In the two high slots you can fit energy vampires, energy neutralizers, tractor beams, salvagers or an array of other high slot modules.SgtHeihn wrote:

This basically designates roles for individual ships. Destroyers are meant to be frigate killers so your ship will be geared more towards frigate skirmish combat than bombardment. Other ships are designated as missile boats and have a number of missile hardpoints and usually ship bonuses that boost the capability and effectiveness of missiles and launchers. What you need to look for in a ship is the bonuses and see how you can best exploit those bonuses to make your ship more effective.
In example:
A Prophecy Battlecruiser gets bonuses to armor resistances and capacitor use for lasers. The Harbinger Battlecruiser on the other hand gets bonuses to laser damage and laser capacitor use. Both ships however receive a 99% reduction in cpu needed for warfare link modules. So say you wanted a ship that could kill quickly, you would go with the Harbinger since it gets bonuses to damage AND cap usage. The prophecy on the other hand would be more suited as a warfare link ship even though it gets bonuses to laser usage it does not get the bonus to damage. Therefore the prophecy would make a good rep ship because it has the bonuses to tank longer coupled with the 99% reduction, the Harbinger would make a better kill ship because it gets bonuses to damage. Both ships can do the same thing but each ship has the potential to do certain things better than the other.
imma experimenting in something pointless.

5 assault launchers ftw?
Thanks, for the info everyone!
nope, i'm going for the better rof and damage per missile.MadKatter wrote:

4 missiles every 6 seconds at such a speed and range i'd be hard to hit would be lethal.
i'm not entirely sure under what circumstances i'd be using this though.

You said you were fitting 4 assault launchers.
Nano-caracal is only good for taking out frigates, and then you need tech 2 launchers, precision missiles, and a buffer.
