CSS is full of nothing but little kids and is incredibly easy. BFBC actually takes skill and requires you to do a variety of things and, um...teamwork? something which is rarely found in BF2 or CSS.
Anyone who's played, erm, more than the demo or MP for more than...a day or so (Nexus, Krazed, Naturn, etc) will tell you that BFBC is awesome.
Best game of the year? of course not. A very good game? Yes.

Will definitely check out silkroad online. Gonna take a quick peek at those flight games you mentioned. I wouldn't mind a "free" flight sim, I'm sure there's some out there. The last sim I played was on my windows 95 with my M$ big-as-my-laptop joystick.

The best games usually don't have objectives because objectives are fail and should only be an option. I'd rather just kill people like in all FPS's.
