nice OC you have there
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Vcore looks sexy too don't it
Did you have to use the worlds slowest imagehosting site?

EDIT: Ok, it's loaded. Pretty impressive OC. What tricks are you using to keep VCore so low though? Just got an awesome chip?

Lots of fiddling with cpu pll voltage and NB voltage and ratios. The chip itself is good if you look at other CPUs but for an E8400 its somewhere in the middle. There was a batch list from the best batch to the worse and mine was somewhere in the middle. I love my CPU though.

I've never really figured out what all the PLL voltages and stuff do. Mostly because my mobo won't tell me what the stock voltages are, so I never dare raise them in case I'm doing something stupid.

A new hard drive and a fresh OS does the trick. No overclocking yet.

Looking good to do some damage to the top scores Mikey. Are you going to strip the install right down?

I can shed a couple more things ATI CCC and the audio manager. Despite that I am on a P31 so overclocking limits will come sooner rather than later. I might try this weekend.

If you seen my screenshots in this thread you would notice I have the 98 theme. Thats cos I went in diagnostic mode which disables all unneeded stuff thus achieving a better SuperPi score.

My suicide runs didn't really go anyway. Got up to 1.55v VCore and 2.3VDimm and still wasn't able to boot at anything above 3.8Ghz. In diag mode with explorer killed I shaved 0.1s off my recorded time.

Holy shit. 2.3Vdimm? 2.1 should be highest.

I can't put a score for every person who changes their multiplier from 9 to 7. One score per system. Should I put this over your current score?

I'll update the chart soon.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
