And it's still slow. Fucking Vista(esque operating systems).
Vista slows down PI score a lot.
Lol I ran mine on Ultimate x64. I should probably find a copy of XP and strip it down and run.
So did I...

Suicide run.

Was hoping to beat 12s, but my temps are holding me back.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

How much VCore and VDimm did you actually have going through there?

Fuck, I forgot to put one CPU-Z to Memory. Shit.

I had VCore set to 1.6(!) in BIOS, and VDimm set to 2.3(!!). Timings 3-4-3-7.

My Vdrop/droop is horrible

I could go even higher, if it weren't for my fucking IHS. With my CPU lapped, and contact checked with many different techniques, I still get 70(!!!)C IDLE(!!!!) with that VCore. It's just not making contact on the inside.

I think I'm gonna sell off this CPU and get an E7300.

Damn, I might have to get some suicide runs going, see if I can get 4Ghz. It's not stable at 3.8, but it has a lot less volts. I won't be going for 1.6v though...

1.6 is nothing for a 65nm.

Also, I'll add you as soon as I've moved my screen back from watching a movie. Can't add people without my macros for re-numbering.

I didn't see anyone actually involved getting seriously pissed on this thread, it looked like a joke. In any case some people were taking it the wrong way and it was off topic, so I cleaned it up.

How come Intels are so much faster than AMD processors?

I don't know specifics.

But you can see certain programs favor the architecture of certain chips - such as the Radeon 2900s in 3DMark06.

Are you high? Intel chips right now are a shitload faster then AMD's, even clock for clock.

An E6600 and FX-62 have equal performance in the 3DMark06 CPU test.

The FX-62 is 5% weaker in Supreme Commander. (38 FPS vs. 40)

Yet, in Super Pi, the FX-62 takes 50% more time to finish the run than the E6600. Look at the chart in the first post, if you want proof. There is a stock E6600 and FX-62. It seems to me Super Pi favors Intel architecture, considering the other two numbers were from benchmarks that are mostly neutral.

I'm not high at all. I'm just looking at the facts.

So basically in the end you can't compare Intel and AMD with Super PI but..... You can compare other Intel's to each other and the same goes with AMD.

Super Pi mainly uses the CPU floating point unit (x87 instruction set). The FPU in the Core2 is greatly superior to that in the AMD CPUs. Therefore the Core2 rapes AMD at Super Pi

Theres a lot more to it than just changing frequency and vcore. If you do it right then you don't even need to raise vcore that much.
