When I saw the title of the news I was expecting a Nov. 09' release. Should be awesome
Well how long can porting a game to another platform take? Which is why it bothers me when it takes so long for japanese games to be translated to englishK3rt6699 wrote:

Any guesses as to the PC requirements? Their previous games didn't require much, but I'd expect that to change with gta4.
Fuck
Yeah! :d
Yeah! :d
san andreas was 800mhz, much higher than the PS2 and Xbox. my guess is that the minimum will be similar to the console. So my guessRyan wrote:

minimum
Processor: P4 3 GHz or AMD equivalent
Hard drive space: 7 gigabytes
RAM: 1GB
GPU: direct x 9
recommended
Processor: 2.4 ghz core2duo or equivalent
Hard drive space: 10 gigabytes
RAM: 2GB
GPU: direct x 10 7900gt
The HD space should not change from the minimum req's to the recommended reqs. Also, a 7900GT is not directx 10. Once you get in the 8xxx series, then you get DX10.rammunition wrote:

My guess for the recommended specs would be something like:
2GB RAM
7800 GPU or higher
Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz or higher
6GB hard drive space
102days? fuck
and do they really even USE DX10 in GTA4?
Reqs are prolly really simple tbh, the PS3/XB360 are considered outdated computers, and struggle running GTA4 at some times

Its a Game For Windows Live game and it looks good. Lets draw conclusions!MECtallica wrote:

My state was founded by Batman. Your opinion is invalid.
Image how much better it will look on a 1920x1200 moniter.Ryan wrote:

How many inches is that? I played it on a 36" screen, high def (GR34's house actually).DoctaStrangelove wrote:

Yeah, but part of that is because so many people skip on it because they cant run it on super high. Its like playing on med. hurts their self esteem and even though it looks as good on med. as other stuff on high, if they cant max it out they get annoyed and pass on it.TheAussieReaper wrote:
Yeah it has a great physics engine, but Crysis has a great gfx engine and you haven't gotten many worthwhile (if any) mods from it.
They need to release this on PC and then release the source code.
plus, I hear a lot of people say the mp sucks... and they don't want to buy just a single player game.
Have you played free roam on consoles? It can get kinda annoying TBH because it almost always just ends up being death match with no points.Ryan wrote:
I can't wait for 16 player free roam around Liberty City, doing whatever you want.
99% of the people you come across attack you on site. It gets kinda annoying, because honestly if I wanna go battle other people I will play deathmatch (or more likely a decent FPS tbh).
Even when trying to play free mode with friends other people on the server always fuck with you. We were having boxing matches where it was obviously a couple guys hanging out with out weapons fighting bare fist, and people were constantly trying to run us over or shoot us up.
I only did free roam in GTA 4 once. I gave up on the multiplayer completely about 10 minutes later.
imagine the high download rates if there were 100k downloaders and seeders or somethingAcreta wrote:

i think thepiratebay will absolutely ASPLODE when it gets released.
It's a shame that my friend lent me his 360 with GTA4 a few days ago. I'm playing it on this 14" rubbish TV and I can just about tell the icons on the minimap apart (like safehouse, internet cafe). The TV doesn't even do so much as 800x600, it's less than that. At least I can look forward to not having to use a controller to aim.
I've been playing Crackdown the last few days again and I have to say its far more fun than GTA IV is.
You get fast cars, huge explosions, and the ability to scale buildings and do all sorts of crazy stuff. Excellent exploration system in the form of all the orbs. GTA IV by comparison is just boring.
I want someone to make a crackdown style mod for GTA IV. Significantly reduced fall damage, huge jump and all the other added mobility, guns you can use while moving, massive cluster grenades you can fire at any time, an SUV that drives up walls, a supercar that drives under all the other cars, a truck that drives through them...
Enemies that spawn in the city and attack you etc.
Crackdown is just brilliant.

I'm not going to pirate a great game like GTA:IV. The more money Rockstar and TakeTwo get, the better their next games will be (even though they made $500 million in the first week of GTA:IV sales )Acreta wrote:

I should have read this sooner.
RAGE is the game engine used in GTA:IV, and was released in 2006, well after San Andreas. It says it's used in the PC installments of the GTA franchise, meaning they must be using it to develop GTA:IV on the PC.Wikipedia wrote:
Prior to RAGE, Rockstar used Criterion Games' RenderWare engine to develop various game titles, including the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC installments of the Grand Theft Auto franchise.
By the time it comes out on PC, most people have finished the story line like 10x on the consoles.
Many people don't have a console, like meChou wrote:
