Well it seems that heaps of people got a free 500 MS points in the last few days. It seems to be related to the GAME GTA offer. I don't have any, does anyone else here have them?

I know there has been a message going around offering free points that is actually a phishing scam that will charge your credit card hundreds of dollars within minutes.

It happened to my friend - replied to the message, got his account hacked, $750 worth of charges on his card in less than five minutes.  He did get a gold subscription for free from XBox because of it though.

Be wary.

No its nothing like that. Hundreds of people have come online today/yesterday and found that they have 500 points that they never bought.

I read the whole 10 page thread and there's no answer from MS yet. A few people even got 1000/2000.

After reading the whole thing I think I can safetly say its nothing to do with the GAME GTA offer so ignore that.

But if I randomly get 500 at some point like all these people have then I think i'm going to get the Mass Effect DLC.

It now seems as though MS are taking away points that people have paid for instead.

Although I think thats because the server is down. They're looking into it obviously.
