Hey guys,

I´m looking for an action oriented RPG (as the title says, lol)

Reason is, my girlfriend does enjoy pc gaming as well, but not the

stupid shooting, running and dying all the time

like the FPS I play. She enjoys role plays (pun intended ), but nothing as massive or complex as WoW for example.
So I thought, I find us a game, we could play via LAN, since we both got notebooks.

It should be similar to the diablo series. With all the hack ´n´ slay but no deep character development. No need for the isometric perspective too. Anything goes here. And it shouldn´t sport any fancy graphics, cause her notebook is way to crappy for that, although it managed to run Gothic III.

She used to play Diablo II a lot, so she can´t stand it anymore. She´s a big fan of the Gothic series (if some of you know it) though. Shame you can´t play Gothic in multiplayer.

I tried Sacred so far, but it is rather disappointing. As is Hellgate London tbh.

So, if some of you guys know playworthy, action-oriented RPG´s, just name them.

EDIT: It is pretty cheap now, has an expansion and I enjoyed it... quite alot fighting, many talent trees to choose from and so on

TES Morrowind and/or TES Oblivion <- Singleplayer Games.

Also, Dark Messiah: Might and Magic <- can be done over LAN but it's TDM style combat, so 1on1 wouldn't be of great entertainment for long.

Looks like I wasn´t clear on the facts though. I´m looking for a game we can play together via LAN, so Kotor is outta the questions. I do own both and they fuckin rock though .
Mass Effect to hungry concerning hardware.

Titan Quest sounds like it´s worth a shot. I completely forgot about that, thanx Nordemus. I´m googling it now. Any hints on the playtime?

Assuming you get the Immortal Throne expansion (which is certainly worth it imo), you'll get a fair amount of playtime out of the game. I'm at act 1 of what would be the equivalent of nightmare in D2 and i've racked up about 40 hours so far.

Admittedly there was a fair amount of faffing about and helping friends, but with so many character builds and the three difficulty system of D2, the game should last for quite some time.

Try Silent Storm, it's described as a "turn-based tactical game with RPG elements". It's more of a turn based tactics game than RPG though.

Ah, in that case try Titan Quest, or Sacred, both are similar to Diablo.

Those ought to keep her entertained unit D3 comes out.

Well, sorry for the delay. Shitty austrians seem to do anything BUT installing my internetz, so I have to go to the university everytime I wanna check my mails. Annoying.

Anyways, downloading titan quest demo now. I reinstalled diablo and played over the last couple of days and it rocks.still.

Sacred is pretty shitty.looks better, but is way more uncomfortable than DII and that one is 8 years old.
Looking forward on Titan quest, I just hope it runs on my girlfriends notebook.

Well, you never know, some games are too hard for a woman brain to grasp. I never played eve online though, but I still think that Titan Quest is a better choice
