hey, as probably nobody knows (because even tho i come to BF2s ever single day, and have been since i first registered here, i almost NEVER post anything) im really into modeling in CAD.  iv been taking CAD and also Animation for the past 4 years in high school, and im hoping to do something related to mechanical engineering in college. i just wanted to show u guys this M4 i have been working on for the past few days. at first i thought i wouldnt be able to do it, but then i personally think it turned out surprisingly good (by my standards at least).

(make sure to click on them to view them full size, they look kinda jagged and stuff right now cause its not full size)

first render with materials added
https://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q100/richdowney01/M4.jpg

propped it up, added some ammo and shadowing
https://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q100/richdowney01/M4leaningwithammo.jpg

im planning on now creating all kinds of attachments for it; scopes (ACOG and red dot), handgrips, maybe a flashlight, and hell, if i figure out how to work with lights better i might actually made the flashlight work lol

im gonna do a quick video, just of it spinning, to show off both sides (i personally like the side with the ejection port more )

not nearly as long as i thought. i think iv been working on it for like 3 days, idk how many hours a day tho. i could find out how long using this thing in the program, but that shows all the time that it has been opened for. and i left it open one night by accident, so it has a hung amount of hours

In AutoCAD? That's amazing. I've used that program in school, but just for making blueprints. I'm in the process of creating a FN SCAR-L on 3DStudioMax, but it's not even half as good as yours. I don't know how to make it look rounded and sleek, instead of boxy and chunky.

+1 for the great work.

I could never do this but i'd figure id just say it...

I didnt think the M4 had a fixed iron sight, I thought where the carry handle/sight is is supposed to be a RIS system maybe with an attachable handle/sights...

Pretty sick though tbh

My dad taught me a bit of AutoCAD when I was younger since he used it for work. However I never knew it could be used for 3D modeling. I just saw building design. The model looks farking awesome though.

The front sight is fixed, the 'handle' is on a rail I believe.

That's the actually one from BF2? Or did you make it?
Mine would never be used for games, too many poly's and vert's, it would lag like crazy.
Just by adding a rail, it looks better already:

Mine's looking better (Note that I'm not derailing the OP's thread, this thread should remain relevant to his model)
