Did you do all of that stuff before or after the Marines? How much money are we talking here...?
after active duty....some during reserves. Flight school was about 90K. A&P school was about 40K. Add in the living, tools, equipment, etc. I'd say a rough total would be 200K. I flew a Cessna from NY Laguardia to Teterboro NJ. I used the sectional map to stay on course. It was easy.
So what am I supposed to learn from the flight sim? What's the challenging part?

I just tried to land a 747 at Laguardia coming in from the north. I ended up somewhere in Brooklyn. Gotta work on that. I'll try some wind in the Cessna.usmarine2 wrote:

Is there stuff to learn about navigation? Or can private pilots just use a map irl?
map is basic vfr flying. try some instrument flying. also, flying around alaska in that game can be interesting, especially up around dutch harbor.
