That's right, I have just now started playing fallout 1 & 2 for the first time.  (flameshield... etc.)

What can I do to make my guy less of a pussy?  Strenght is at 7, intelligence is 9, I used "gifted" melee is in the 80s, small arms...80s

But I still get my ass kicked.

I am really new to this game, is it just a "hit and run away" game for a long time?  Whats a good way to build up EXP. in the beginning so I can beat more than ants or mice?

And also, why the fuck do I miss with EVERY damn attack?  just the way of the game?

Any usefl tips would be cool.  I have googled, and there are SOME help, but usually all I find is, "go here do this" walkthrough type advice.

Firstly. You cant start the game with fighting, avoid fighting at all costs until you have yourself a gun and some good armour. The best way of doing this is just doing all the available quests people offer you and nick absolutely fucking everything. eg. The first town you come across in F2 has some alright armour, you need to get the money to buy it by stealing and completing quests.

Secondly, get help from some character as early as possible, if you look at a guide you will see there are about 10 side characters u can have help you out, max 2 characters and 1 dog at a time. Just look at a guide and get the help from that person.

Thirdly aim to level up your shooting skill early, but make sure you pick some weapon skill that you use throughout the game, ie getting plasma weapon skill early on is pointless because you dont get them till much later, pick pistols or rifles.

Fourth get 1 skill set per char, ie one char hacks, one steals, on talks well.

Thats all i can think of off the top of my head.

It wasn't violence that it was banned here, it was the drug use in the game, which i actually agree with, kids WILL want this game, because here only ages 14+ really are PC gamers, and that makes up like 10% of gamers here PC ones.

Console kiddies will want this, and being able to use a crack pip, morphine and other drugs avaliable on our streets encourages it.

I for one, am 15 years old and have not drunk alcohol or done drugs, not once, and i never will. Doesn't mean i won't be getting this game off bitttorrent though.

Back on topic, another way to "jump" ahead in fallout 2 (if you can't find/make the trip to Navaro and get power armor) is to avoid combat and run out of most encounters. Until you happen into slavers fighting highwaymen, or something like wise. Sit tight, watch the fight and then loot the dead. Some stuff sell, some stuff keep. I always wound up with an SMG or a good rifle, and lots to sell. Then you can start to pick a fight or two. Its good to do this a while and build up money and ammo. Good game to sit back and enjoy. No twitch play and turned based can be enjoyable for a change. Plus it takes  awhile and should keep you busy for a month maybe two. I miss games that do that, too often I spend 50 bucks, finish it and delete the game 3-4 days later.

Thumbs up!

OT:
Do not underestimate the power of PICK POCKETING!!!
Nothing beats relieving armed to the teeth guards of their miniguns (yes, it works ^^) before entering a fight!

Our highest possible rating for pc games is MA 15+, which means the games have to at least be suitable for 15 year olds, cause they can't be rated 18+ or 21+.

It makes sense in some ways, doesn't in others.

If your old enough you'll just buy it through e-bay or bit torrent anyway.

And no .sup, you were right to post that here. /derail from 1 & 2. lol

Hm, Fallout 3 will be on the Silent Storm engine, which is awesome because on that engine almost everything is destructible like buildings and trees.

I looked up fallout 2, just seemed really slow paced

You and the enemy take turns fighting one after the other.  You fight first, then enemy, then you, etc...  I haven't played Fallout but I have played Silent Storm which is turn based also and so I'm guessing the two are the same in turns of basic gameplay with action points.

If you don´t want to use any cheats i would suggest STEAL STEAL STEAL yep pickpocket everything always save before, if it fails load and rince and repeat i know pretty boring but this will give you tons of money and equipment.

Talk to everyone quests are the best way for experience. ( remember Charisma is important i think you need a minumum of 5 or was it 6 to gain most quests in game )

Pick your perks and stats careful you don´t get another chance i suggest you read through them before picking the coolest looking one.

http://www.nma-fallout.com/ here´s all info you need to know

Ps. Don´t forget to patch the game! quite important there are some severe bugs that can get rid of your car and de like. Ds.

Its turn based combat, when some enemy detects you or you click on your weapon to start using it it enters a turn based mode, your base number of movement points are 8 per turn and using items, shooting etc use up those points, the computer then all move and then its your go again. The whole exploring thing is real time. Enemies move around in real time etc. They have a hearing and sight radius though, so if you run straight past a guard it will enter combat and he will shoot you, if you wait for him to walk away and then run past it doesn't.

Its a pretty simple yet very solid mechanic.
