Searching: 3rd Person Martial Arts "Shooter"

I have been looking for a while now but can't find anything.

What I'd like to play is a "shooter", but without weapons - or maybe melee weapons (longsword, katana, bo/staff - all fine with me), but I'd really like it to be Kung Fu, Karate etc. - kind of low tech Tomb Raider/Jedi Knights with a good set of styles/combos like e.g. Dead or Alive.

Regarding a storyline - like Dark Messiah would be nice, basics like in Doom acceptable.

Biggest problem maybe, that it had to be for PC - not PS3 etc.

Any ideas?

Get Max Payne 1 and 2.

Do a Mod search.

Find mods that add weapons like that.

Play mods.

Other than that, I have no idea. Some of the mods for MP 1 and 2 almost outshine the games themselves imo.

You'll have to take some small RPG elements with some of these, but:

Hulk (older PC game...never played the new)

Crysis (don't have to use the guns or high details)

Star Wars: Jedi Knight I/Jedi Knight II/Jedi Academy
Hellgate: London

If you want old:

Die by the Sword
Giants: Citizen Kabuto

If you want new:

Prototype [supposed to be good...think it's either coming out for the PC (as well as consoles) or already out]

Well, I was going to reccomend Ninja Gaiden II, but that's for the 360 only...and Heavenly sword for the PS3 (although it's ghey looking) but you don't have consoles, so...

I dunno, Stranglehold? Although, that's more run and gun.

You can try The Specialists, half-life 1 mod. It has katana's, knife's and weapons (but some servers are kungfu only). You can play in first and 3rd person.

Giants is fun too, but it has guns.

stranglehold was actually fun, but VERY VERY shortlived, the story is extremely short, multiplayer is retarded etc

This is just screaming for

Enter the Matrix (every platform) - largely disappointing but a fantastic combat engine
Oni (computer) - somewhat futuristic but it is martial arts combat. Very old now.

Read a bit about it and got lucky hunting it down. Going to try it this evening after work.
(And dude... old... I recently resurrected MadTV and Master of Orion 2. )
