I have a feeling it'll turn out that the pyro is a woman...if you look in your spawn in most maps at the lockers, the pyro's locker has a flower covered purse in it.

If true, expect an influx of woman beaters playing as heavies punching out pyros.

The info in that entry is sourced from an update from back in February. Meet the Scout and Meet the Sniper have been released since then.

From what I understand the "Meet the Pyro" short was planned for release at that time but the whole short was scrapped. The information would have been correct at that time I imagine but of course things change.

Umm. The 'Meet the Pyro' TF2 wiki page just shows up blank for me. Can someone post a screenshot of it?

As for the email from back then that said Meet the Pyro was next, yes it was. Even Yahtzee of Zero Punctuation fame says he saw it. But the months passed and nothing happened. Yahtzee said he didn't 'get it', and so its pretty obvious what happened. They weren't happy with it and it was scrapped. Then Meet the Scout was released several months later.

However I want to see where it says Meet the Medic is finished.

I agree. The Pyro is a running joke. In fact he's several. has anyone else noticed that in the Meet the Team videos he's been killed in just about every way? Sniped, Sentry'd, Train'd, Nades, Rocketed... He's the Kenny of TF2. Also, that rubbish about him being female. Yes there's a handbag. However in the game files he's listed as 'male', and has a male voice actor. They'd better not explicitely say one way or the other.

Doing anything that would ruin all these running jokes would be disastrous (ie taking the mask off...). Anything that 'clears up' anything about the Pyro would be a very bad idea as far as i'm concerned.

I think they'd best not explicitely say anything about him. Just make an entertaining vid. Somehow. It wouldn't be easy.

Can someone show me where it says meet the Pyro is next? And that tidbit about meet the medic? Because I can't find anything, and as I said the wiki page is just blank.

If you look at the Red Team's blog you'll see that Engineer refers to Pyro as male frequently too.

I think he's like a combination of Kenny McCormick and Hannibal Lecter.

So the pyro is on acid?
