I read it in the latest issue of GameInformer. Not sure if it's been released yet, but Sony partnered up with YouTube to allow recording of shit in-game and then uploading it to YouTube through your PS3. They said it's only in Japan right now, but the agreement applies worldwide or something like that. Hope we get it in the US.

- [PS3] Upload videos from your PS3 to YouTube... if you're in Japan
Sweet.
Why is youtube so popular though? It's so glitchy and bad.

It's relatively easy to upload shit and it by far has the largest userbase out of other sites.Miggle wrote:

Yeah, but why does it have such a big userbase when it has horrible quality, and I have to reload the page at least 5 times to watch anything on it.HurricaИe wrote:

What would be the point? I never understood watching games on youtube. The way I see it, people only do that to expose glitches and promote cheating.
There is only one game, which supports youtube, and it's called Mainichi Issho. It's pretty bad imo.

Guitar Hero and Rock Band videos, mostly. A lot of people upload them (although they record them with a camcorder or a capture card right now) to provide proof of scores for this site called ScoreHero.usmarine2 wrote:

It works semi-fine for me. On some videos, if I try to fast forward, it simply won't let me.SEREVENT wrote:

nope, i had a mate who held tons of time records for the timesplitters series, he had to record every record attempt until he got one. They need video proof because its very hard to fake.usmarine2 wrote:

I am confused. Do you win money or something?
Bragging rights I guess, or just a good old boost of feel good hormones (/spelling?)usmarine2 wrote:

Yup.Vilham wrote:

lots of people do just take pictures, but as Jens said... it adds extra inches to have a full video of your successes
edit: I guess in theory you could win money. If you're good enough to top the leaderboards of the site, you'd probably destroy people at local Guitar Hero tournaments that sometimes have cash prizes.

I guess what I do not understand is people can actually go play the guitar in real life. So whats the big deal about the game? It is just a modern version of simon sez with music.
And most people do. It's just an easier and fun way to pick it up and play it with your friends, plus the tracklists are .usmarine2 wrote:

It's just for fun. The GH games actually got me into playing real guitar. But ultimately it's about fun. Learning guitar can be frustrating at times, so people see appeal in being able to grab a plastic guitar and feel like they're rocking out. I COULD go to the shooting range, or I can just play COD.usmarine2 wrote:

Personally I never got GH.usmarine2 wrote:

You mean join the army or CoD4. Though I don't think that any game will ever actually make a gunfight feel even semi-real.HurricaИe wrote:

Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
