PS3 making more noise than usual.

So im playing a game, the PS3 has been on for like over 1 hour and suddenly it sounds like a fan has just suddenly turned into overdrive mode or something, i havnt heard this before so im unsure as if its just trying to keep itself cool or what. :S

I have turned it off, should i be worried?

There are certain games that makes it loud. BF:BC is one of them.

Try the fan test (look for it on youtube if you dont know what it is). Some people will say, zomg it can damage your console, tbh, I do it once every few weeks to clear out the dust that inevitably clogs up the vents, and its as silent as a church.

Turn it off at the back switch
Hold down eject
Turn it on at the back switch
keep holding down eject
*sounds like a hoover at this point*
red light flashes
Turn off at back switch
Turn on at back switch
Should be ok now, or atleast a tad quieter

Its probably either the heat, or clogged vents.
Try the fan blow out mentioned above.
Also make sure you keep it in the shade in weather like this!

the vent system got several different speed settings, if the area it's in is hot or has poor room for ventilation it will increase the speed of the fan and won't go down again before the machine is turned off (even if it cools down) so it's nothing wrong with the machine it's just making sure that it does not get fried by overheating. so don't worry m8 it's completely normal happens all the time when i forget to open the cabinet to my ps3 and turn it on.

Same. But sometimes the PS3 fan does go into overdrive, it's nothing to worry about.
