Finally got Crysis, just installed it... when I try to run it the screen goes black and nothing happens. When I close it there is a window that pops up saying Crysis has stopped working. I've tried patching and updating the video drivers, as well as reinstalling. Any ideas on how to fix it?

Specs:
CPU: Q6600
RAM: 4BG
Video: GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB
OS: Vista 64bit

Its either a windows driver or a video card driver conflict me thinks.

Try completely uninstalling video card driver and reinstalling, through device manager.

Probably best to do it in safe mode though.

Turns out the game runs fine if I use the .exe from the bin32 folder, but not the ones from the bin64, the Games folder, or the CD autorun. Kinda lame, but I guess if it works...

I'd still like to find a solution to this, but at least I can actually play.

That's normal for Vista.

I had this problem and fixed it.  There's a driver that conflicts with 64-bit Crysis and you have to uninstall it.  I'll go look for more information.

EDIT: Found it!  Go to your control panel and uninstall the Nvidia Network Access Manager.  Problem should be solved.
