More and more I see threads with "56k warning!!!" and I'm thinking to myself, who actually uses dial-up anymore? Broadband is almost all over the globe and lets face it, you couldn't play BF2 with dial-up and therefor you wouldn't know of this site, so is there anyone here that still uses 56k?

My dad in a small town in OR has 56k. When I visited last summer I thought I would die.

A month ago, yes I did. Slowest sh*t ever, about 3 kilobytes a second in transfer rate. Then about 3 weeks ago I got broadband!! YAY!!!!! Now I have to find a way to control my BF2 online addiction. Now seeing how fast Broadband can go, I can NEVER go back to dial-up, not for any reason.
I know somebody who still uses a 56k modem and they only ever use it for emails.

Try going from a 10Mb line to dialup, it's fucking awesome. Spent 9 months with netzero(◄ LOL) last year before i found a wireless broadband provider that could give me a 680Kb connection(which i can't game on). I haven't been able to play online for the last year and a half.
All my troubles end on Tuesday when i move into the city. 20Mb line FTW.
