I have two BFG 7800 Gt Oc's sitting in a box beside my PC (got em free from BFG, its a work thing) but I have an older MB still, I want to try them SLI but my current ol AGP mb isn't gonna cut it, I found this  http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/ … CatId=1189 online and it would let me use my current Memory and CPU with SLI this is the only one I have seen that supports older AMD chips but I am wary of buying it because I can't find and user reviews on it, does anyone know of an UNBIASED review site I could check? I don't trust most because they are swayed in their reviews by the free crap they get in return from the hardware companies and I REALLY don't wanna buy this board and find out its crap cause I have never even heard of Epox before...

www.tomshardware.com has pretty good reviews, as does www.extremetech.com . They dont review every piece of hardware that exists though, so they may not have anything on the hardware you're talking about.

That board is super sweet.. I have built 3 machines for people that had sempron64's and older socket 754 athlons... Super solid and fast.
The board is NOT using an older chipset.. it is infact using an Nforce 4 SLI chipset in all is goodness.. no different than a 939 NF4 SLI board except for the fact that it has a Socket 754 thats it.

you still get

SATA 3.0
Dual channel memory if using an athlon - remember memory controller is in the processor

I wouldnt worry about buying an Epox Board.. Thay shifted focus a year or so ago to mostly asia.. but you can still find them in the states. I have used hundreds of Epox boards, and they have all been very stable and fast. IMHO one of the better board manufacturers out there (IE production not outsourced to ECS like Abit and others)

I got mine here $89.99 plus shipping NEWEGG rocks

read the reviews
lot better price

REMEMBER TO GET A GOOD HIGH QUALITY POWERSUPPLY 450-500 WATTS

lower end to get you by http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6817148027
recommended if you have some extra cash for it http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6817171006

the AM2 chipsets are going to give you the ability to run DDR2 memory.. and thats about it. From early benchmarks, until DDR2 speeds increase.. because of the higher latencies involved there will be very little if any improvement in speed over current DDR setups. We'll see what the performance looks like at production time, but there will probably not be any added features over current processors, besides the DDR2 support.
