I'm trying to install the patches for CoD4 on my brothers new PC, the game's on fine and runs without a problem but, the patches refuse to install. The error I get is that it cannot find the installation of CoD4 or words to that effect, i've tried 1.3, 1.4 and 1.5 all the same thing.

It's running Vista Home Premium which I presume it's fine with, any ideas? I'm off down the pub so I'll check back later.

I had the same problem with 2142 when I wanted to patch 1.5. The folder where everything was worked, could play 2142 online but when I inserted the disc and the Autorun screen came up, it asked me if I wanted to instal. So I reinstalled.

Done that twice, in different locations, secondary drive he puts all his games on and the default location. Same shit both times. Really annoying me now I want some drunken CoD4

Paste the iw3mp file in the C:drive > Activision > Call of duty 4 modern warfare file and paste it over the old one.

Then take the mp_code_post file in the C:drive > activision > Call of duty 4 modern warfare > Zone > english folder and a paste over the old one. Then there ya go all patched up! Might i ask if you have a pirated version of cod 4 ?

Not pirated at all, bought new today, I'll let you know how I get one in a min, it may take me a while I'm not exactly at my most co-ordinated at the moment lol.
