Meh, the HR-03 is supposed to arrive on friday, so I didn't bother with anything fancy.
Behold, the ultimate video card ghetto mod:
Took the plastic cover off, attached a 92mm to the heatsink with 3 small plastic wires (the one you screw together, comes with every piece of hardware with any cables), and vóila.
Lowered temperatures by from 70°C idle, 80°C+ load, to 50°C idle, 68°C load

Disconnect the original fan, it isn't doing any good right now. You already did.PBAsydney wrote:

Nicely done, that heatsink is actually pretty decent with a fan like that

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
No pics, but I stuck an embossed 'eye' on the front of my case, using white/blue-tac.
Does that count?

My ghettomod
Home made window in sidepanel
Homemade airintake in the sidepanel + one of moms panty's to prevent dust from comming in
Also truely ghetto airouttake on top of my case + glued an fan beneath it.
And almost last but not least: the top fan in my case was noisy, so I made an ghetto 5v mod for that fan.
I don't have pics of it because it is in the back of my case due to cable management, but you can see a guide here

GPU2=51
from
GPU1=66

I assume those are load temps, since the G92 shouldn't be running as hot as the G80, right?
Those are idle temps
wat?
Wait, that makes sense, since I was measuring it with my fan blowing at 2800 RPM

I'll get a new reading with the fans on 100%, brb.
Now on 50/46

I'd pull a PBAsydney, but my 3870 cooler is too tiny

Edited. It's kinda natural to type it that way, as PBA can't really be read (P'BEA), and Sydney is a town's name. And your Xfire nick also causes confusion.PBAsydney wrote:

Nice pics, and good result. Also, your garage looks like Freezer's room, but with more useful stuff,']['error wrote:

I think I'll ask a mod to rename me to just Sydney, the PBA is just something retarded I found in some old game.
I was like 12 when I thought up this nickname...

My ghetto mod of the day.
Reason: Temps went up to 65 centigrade during a game of CoD4 according to a sensor located on the copper pipe and a hideous beeping began from the front panel temp monitor. Of course I could have raised the alarm level, but instead I did this.
Yes, it's from my old 3200+ stock cooler.

1) I used a zip tie instead of those metallic freezer bag closers.
2) Look who has rev control. Its still quiet when not under load
But I sure did pull a Sydney.
I need around tree fiddy.
I tried putting a zip die, just didn't work for me
And I had rev control too, just like I have right now with my HR-03 and the very same fan
