hey i have a question. im really new at using photoshop, and iv been trying to cut out an image of my friend to put it into another picture. i could do it at the photoshop at our school, which is photoshop 10 or something, but i tried to do it on mine (photoshop elements 6) and i cant find out how. i know i hav eto make a layer or something, and i already have everything i want filled in with that selecting brush thing, but i dont know what to do now. can anyone help?
sorry if this sounds really gramatically incorrect and spelled really wrong, i need to leave soon and i wanna try to figure this out before i go, so i wrote this real fast

any help?

Uh, use the cut-out tool, near the top on your tool panel I guess you could call it. You can use just the normal cut out tool (lasso), the magnetic lasso, or the polygon lasso.

As Ryan said, use the lasso tool to select what you want, then right click in the selection and select "Layer via copy". (or cut, doesn't matter)
Then drag that new layer (which has your cut-out selection in it) to whatever file you want to put it in.
