Posture is very important to maintain a healthy lifestyle, both now and later in life. A good way to understand how posture works is to do this: think of a big brush with no end (aka just a pole). Now, put a bowling ball on top. As the pole moves forward, it becomes harder and harder to move back to normal as it wants to go forward more. This is why it is important to work on your posture regularly.
Mine has gotten progressively worse, and I'm doing something about it now. I do posture exercises every morning and night now. My brother's posture became so bad he had to visit a chiropractor it wasn't very nice according to him - having his back and neck cracked regularly, and not-overly-pleasant during the treatment. However, it was all worth it in the end now as his posture is getting better now. Currently, I'm in the market for a good chair to also help my posture.
