I need a racing game. Not rFactor.

Something similar to Forza and Gran Turismo, but for the PC.

NFS:Prostreet is good.  Project Torque is free and I have to say a very rewarding racing game.  Regular content updates, too.  Oh you may want to try GTR2, I hear that's good.  I've wanted to pick up TOCA3 also, which has more variety of racing.

I don't want NFS:PS, but I'll check out those other three. Thank you.

Seconded Project Torque. This game is holding me over until the full release of GT5.

Colin MacRae: DiRT is awesome. Highly recommended.

One question, Why not rFactor? with all the mods that are out for it, it is well worth the money. All types of racing from lawn mowers all the way up to formula 1 and everything in between.

I loved the demo, but I want more of a track racing game, not offroad (although it was a very fun demo)

I guess I'll try Project Torque, but the graphics don't look too great...

Nice thing about Project Torque is they are constantly adding content: tracks, cars, car upgrades, etc.  From the rumors I've heard they will add more quality to the graphics as the fan base grows.  So it doesn't look at good as NFS:Prostreet, but it does have HDR and it pulls off the multiplayer racing very smoothly.  There have been server issues at times, but the developers have been very proactive in addressing them quickly.  Having a buddy and message system built into the game is very handy, too.

Great Racing Games:

- rFactor
- Live for Speed
- GTR2
- DiRT for rally

Everything else is a bit too arcady for me. NFS: Pro Street has gotten a lot better, though.

So out of these three, which should I choose:

Project Torque
NFS: Pro Street
GTR2

Is Pro Street still unrealistically fast and arcade style? I don't want that.
I just watched a few Pro Street videos, and wow, looks waaaay better than Carbon. I think I'll go pick it up

Project Torque = free

You could theoretically have a go at two games, only paying for one if you wanted. I'd really recommend Project Torque though.

I'll download Project Torque and play it until I get Pro Street.
