So I was thinking, and I realised that pretty much nobody IRL knows that I visit this place. e.g: Mum/Dad/Family/Freinds - I probably intend to keep it that way too.
Add me on Origin for Battlefield 4 fun: DesKmal
my family know but other than that no one else knows
This question is phrased poorly. Do you mean do I know people IRL who visit this particular forum? Or any forum online in general?
As for this forum, I'm the only person I know IRL. But I have lots of friends who visit lots of forums. At one point a guy from my high school made a forum so it was filled with a lot of people from there, so that's an example of myself and many other people visiting a forum and knowing each other IRL.

my dad knows that i go on a "bf2 site" and according to him "i am always on that game (bf2)" (even though i havnt played it for months) coz apparently going on this site counts as playing the game

Yeh, my entire family gives me shit about using a computer in general....fuck them
Too right, at the sametime they will be saying "We just want to see you happy" (well ur Mr's don't say things like that) so if being here makes you happy then so be it.Pea....Tear.....Griffen wrote:

As jord said, it's not something that comes up.The Sheriff wrote:
My brothers do, but apart from that no.
Nope. Come to think of it BF2S is really nerdy.
And 'IRL' im not a nerd and don't hang about with people who would even contemplate visiting an internet forum.
I think we should all come out of the closet to our real life friends. "I have something to tell you guys, I'm an internet forum goer"

Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.
After reading through the posts I feel I can offer advice.
Be open with it all, everyone who knows me knows I play BF2 and they know Im not geeky or nothing, same with this place, just because your part of an online community it don't make you a weirdo. Theres enough of those out there and they don't even know how to fill out an online reg: form.
Honesty is the best policy and with me what you see is what you get. Theres no shame in my game. Im not called 1927 in RL but my clan mates call me that when we meet, its like this in 99% of the time. If you don't like 27 feck off 'cos I aint changing.

Diff is: Tbh I'm not really a nerd, I'm a normal guy, chatting to normal people in my eyes.
My family and my class at college know
Quite a few of my friends, I think cos I have linked them to a post or two in the past, and other's I just have told in a conversation.
I'm not ashamed, I'm proud to be a part of BF2s

Yea, most people know that I spend some hours per day keeping you people in check.
Reactions:
Mostly the reactions to this have been: "OK" and "what do you do there?" followed by me showing them if they request it.
- One guy said "dude, you're a nerd!". I told him that he's one aswell (he plays with RC-cars, the 27 year old that he is). We agreed that hobbies are hobbies, and he noticed that this place has some very good material in it.
- One girl fell in love with the "respond by picture"-thread. She asks me to send pictures of lulz to her every now and then.
- One random friend of a friend (while the discussion was sligthly leaning towards FPS-games - on his initiative), recognized me. "Hey, aren't you a moderator on bf2s?". Seems that he happened to browse the forums once (not even registered) when I had just posted a pic of myself in the "What do you look like"-thread.
The last one was total weirdness. I felt like a nerd. I felt.. ..dirty.
But yes, people know, and mostly people don't care.
The Interweb doesn't exist exclusively for these guys anymore, now does it?

If they see you, then they themselves are busted for browsing gaming forums. So don't worry about it.KILLSWITCH wrote:

Ive mentioned it in the past to show how leet I am at BF2, but they probably didnt see anything else besides stats. Plus they would've forgotten. The big thing between our grade now is 'mudkipz', the game (fuck I lose), and some random guy's name, called Michael Fisher (its not even internets related). So thats how it happens, here.
So, I guess no.

My dad's seen me browse here once before but otherwise no.
