Cheap TF2 knockoff, TF2 videos are way better.
I've been kinda hyped for BF: Heroes. Until now. The cartoony graphics look stupid, the third person perspective seems weak, and the gameplay seems simplistic. I hope they don't keep stats so I hafta play for 2000 hours...
Like someone said, TF2 was supposed to be like this, but too many people take it seriously.Flaming_Maniac wrote:

This trailer was made to make sure people know that it's a game and it's for fun.
It did it damn well good, too.
And its free*!
Have to play for 2000 hours ?GravyDan wrote:

wtf...
FYI: Stats are not life.
Your thoughts, insights, and musings on this matter intrigue me
How do you take TF2 too seriously? How if TF2 was supposed to be fun like this one shows, how do you know it will not go the (supposed) route of TF2 and not be fun?FFLink13 wrote:

I saw very limited vehicles/weapons/stuff going on, and all the crazy stuff you have to pay for.
I am well aware that stats are not life, even though I got rather addicted to collecting all the shiny medals on BF2 (I was joking in this case). I will certainly try the game, and I hope that I love it. I'm just a bit underwhelmed with the content of the trailer.FloppY_ wrote:

Looks kinda odd, I'll be giving it a go - although I doubt I'll be spening that much time on it, I just don't like the 3rd person aspect.
3rd person is the fail. hopefully i can get some enjoyment out of this game.
Looks pretty fun.
looks good

Yes. But that's because you're too serious, and have no friends.Flaming_Maniac wrote:

I liked the torrent comment.

i think they made it so you dont have to pay for all that stuff with your money but in game money earned by winning rounds, something along those linesPoseidon wrote:
Honestly, I think I'll be playing this. It looks really fun, surprisingly. I'll probably end up paying for some stuff too.
in the start of the trailer..i was thinking god dam not EA trying to be funny..but then i saw the 15 year old joke and it didn't look half bad.
lets hope its not.

Wikipedia is your friend, if they have the right info. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battlefield_Heroes
Classes
Like previous Battlefield games Battlefield Heroes also has a class system, but stripped down to 3 basic classes. Commando (light), Soldier (medium), and Gunner (heavy) are the available character options.
Commando
The Commando class is fast moving, and specializes in its stealth tactics as well as backstabs, and sniping. The known weapons of the Commando are a sniper rifle and a knife, which do high damage although the rifle does not have a lot of ammo. The Commando is a spy type character and has low health compared to the other classes. Special abilities of this class are laying traps, and cloaking.
Soldier
The Soldier, being the medium class is a good all around class and has the power to determine enemy’s location via a special ability called "See-the-Enemy" (comment=wall hax already? ). This ability outlines nearby opponents even if the enemy is behind a wall. This lasts for 10 seconds and then takes 30 seconds to recharge. The only known weapon the Soldier carries is the Submachine Gun. Other abilities the Soldier can have are incendiary rounds, health boost (heals allies around you), throw multiple grenades.
Gunner
The Gunner is the heavy of the 3 classes, which means he is the slowest moving, but the best armed. He wields rapid-fire machine guns, rocket launchers, and flame throwers are a possibility for feature updates. Special features include the ability to shovel up a bunch of grenades and throw them back at enemies.
Advertising
Advertisements will appear on the website and the 'front-end' of the game although none will appear in-game, while micropayments may be made for additional items to customize the appearance of players' avatars without any gaming advantage.
Buying
Micropayments may be made for additional items to customize the appearance of players' avatars without any gaming advantage.
Achievements work by a mission system allowing you to choose a badge you want and you then go on a mission that will get you that badge. The more you play the game the more points you get and your level increases. The more points allow you to buy better clothing items, but nothing that will give you an advantage on the battlefield.
Characters in the game will be highly customizable and allow you to change 15 different aspects of your character. Heads, faces, facial hair, helmets, jackets, boots, necks, chests, hands, waists, legs, and feet. Item that you will be able to purchase are eye patches, badges, hats, boots, helmets, goggles, belts, and gloves.
From what I read, you can only buy clothing, and that only changes your appearance, giving you zero advantage over other players. Maybe this game won't even have unlocks. At least us cheapos won't be facing off with rich bastards with banana bombs.
Why such a simple game?
The game is said to be placing less emphasis on skill and strategy, and will be less demanding on computer specifications than the previous games of the series to increase the audience base.
Speculated system specs (?): 1Ghz CPU, 512 MB Ram, 64 MB Video Card, 500 MB HDD Space
Clevar EA. Get more people in the BF series, then they might want more. They're just ripening us up for BF3!!

I like the fact that there are aircraft, I mean this game had "no-aircraft" written all over it, but they've put it in.
Also I like the graphics, it's a clean style that looks nice. Even if they really are ripping TF2 off

I actually think it looks pretty fun. Maybe not the amazing sequel to BF2 everyone is waiting for, but defiantly a fun way to spend some time. I still agree that it looks like a TF2 knockoff, but I never really got in to that anyway. My only complaint is that it's 3rd person...
That looks mad. I will download it no matter what.

When has an EA trailer not looked good? Look at the pre release BF2 trailer. 99% of the shit in there didnt make it into the game, and this very likely wont be what the actual game is like.
Seriously what the fuck? People sitting in planes firing miniguns?
Nazis that..ARENT FUCKING CALLED NAZIS? How fucking idiotic can EA get? You make a cartoon WWII game but you dont call the fucking nazis... nazis? National army? Of what? National army of retards who sit on planes doing barrel rolls?
Its free so Ill probably end up downloading it anyway just to see how shit it is, but dont say I didnt warn you. All EA games have looked good before they were released, but the released game has always been waaaaaaaaay different than the trailer.

Haha, silenced? If anything, my speculative hatred has been fueled by this trite TF2-knockoff trailer. Leave the edgy humour and the stylistic graphics to the folks over at Valve who seem to have a reign on things... EA/Dice should stick to what they know; pushing out bloated and inefficient shooters. This whole 'casual gaming' fad in the gaming industry is such an ethereal little bit of marketing. It won't last, the longevity of this game will be decidedly short, and I can almost guarantee that the suckers who feed their own money into the game will be bitterly disappointed in the long-run.mint-sauce-41 wrote:

And. The haters have been silenced.
This trailer looks shiny, but it's already been said that all trailers/promotional-work looks absolutely jaw-dropping and funzies. Reality is always a little different.
