I used to hate anime with a passion. One of my mates made me watch The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and now I've become a full weeaboo -.-
Short reviews on previously watched animus (Dont read the spoilers if you plan on watching it)
Haruhi: First anime I watched, it was pretty good. Nice animation and a nice story which actually had an alright plot. The characters were made to look "attractive" but its not just about looks. A few parts made me smile.
Elfen Lied: Meh. It's not as great as it seems (from the trailer posted earlier). Even though its a shorter series, it still felt like it dragged on in some places. Nyuu is a fucking annoying character, although Lucy fucking rocks and the little girl with 11 vectors is bad-ass. Still far too slow for an anime which most people will watch for the excessive amounts of violence, and the flashback scenes towards the end last for FAR too long. It's still alright, I didn't mind watching it. But it's average.
Spoiler (highlight to read):
The ending was a little bit stupid. She randomly gets in a fight with a bunch of soldiers with no explanation, and apparently gets killed and you see her ear flying off when it cuts out and 5 minutes later you see her silhouette in a door back at Kouta's house :\
I"S Pure: Very short series, admittedly I haven't watched the bonus episodes. Can't really say too much. The main character being such a wimp and not talking to the main girl (forgot the names, off me) was embarrassing and annoying to watch. The whole thing felt so slow
Spoiler (highlight to read):
and there wasn't even a climax point where he ended up kissing her, despite them actually going out again in the end. The main climax moment was her talking to him over the phone whilst he's in a coma and he wakes up because of her voice, which was sorta sad but it could have been better
Probably wouldn't recommend watching unless you're real bored.
Shinigami no Ballad: Um. Very short series like I"S Pure but it didn't even feel like it had a story... Each episode had Momo, the main character, following a new person, other then one guy who was in two episodes. Because you hardly got to "know" the characters it felt like the story didn't do anything and was actually quite boring. That and the main character didn't get enough exposure. It's mainly just a cute anime and unless you want something pointless to ogle at don't bother.
Kanon 2006: To start with, no you don't need to watch Kanon to watch Kanon 2006. 2006 is basically just a pretty remake. Anyway, Kanon 2006 had an excellent story. It's longer then all the other animes previously mentioned, but even me with my bad attention span watched through it all. It's basically about a boy who goes to a town to live with his cousin. It turns out he visited the town on summer break 7 years ago, and he meets up with some interesting people, each with there own story, that he had some form of contact with in the past. Each of the stories are good, bar Makoto's purely because I hated that character. The animation is beautiful as well. You could basically take a screenshot at any point and have a beautiful looking background to use. The only real qualms I have with it are that the whole "I can't remember anything until I need to" thing is cliche'd, and
Spoiler (highlight to read):
everyone has a happy ending other than the fox that turned into Makoto who died, even though they make the illusion that Makoto's story was a happy ending by making the main character meet up with the real Makoto where she saves him from a snow-storm in the middle of the night and looks after him for a bit, and his cousin Nayuki which seems, unless I'm mistaken, as though she loved him despite being cousins which was slightly weird.
Oh, and it's the first TV show/movie/anime/game that I've ever _actually_ cried at.
Nanatsuiro Drops: Lavadisk recommended this one to me and I really recommend it to anyone else who can stand a little bit of childish sailor-moon esque antics in return for a great love story. The whole collecting star drops thing was cute, and at first I wondered how Lavadisk found it a sad story. Not to spoil too much, but when Sumomo gets all the star drops it becomes quite sad. It was a really great anime that again, i actually cried at when Spoiler (highlight to read):
the main guy lost his memory and Sumomo is all sad n shit and then he starts remembering stuff and then they get back together and everyone is like . I would write more but I'm fuckhungry so I'm wrapping it up as a really great story and if you can live with a little bit of silliness its a great watch.
I hope that this gives people some ideas on what to watch even though it's a short list. I really do encourage people to watch anime before judging it like I did because there are alot of great series of all sorts of genres out there, buried among the shitty ones.

I have all 10 discs of Ronin Warriors. Does that count?
Gundam Wing is the only anime I can still appreciate (grown out of the rest).
The Gunslinger Girl miniseries is better, but that's not anime, that's art.

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
Ya his mentality is too weak, He will be caught up in the Swirl power of the Meme and be a total newfag thereby causing more faggotry in /b/max wrote:

If only the anime fanbase wouldn't consist almost entirely of various kind of 'tard.. The concept is good, the content is not. Oh well, at least pedophiles, girls, and simpletons can have their fun.

I like that one with the 14 tentacled super #1 monster dragon ninja who has "tentacle disfunction" issues with the balloon eyed school girl. It was a real tear jerker.
Oh ya, and pokeman!

The last addition was Edward, a young, eccentric computer genius and master hacker. Though she is a girl, there is a popular confusion as to Ed's gender. She gave herself the long and fanciful name "Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky IV" after running away to an orphanage by her father, but it is revealed later on that her real name is Françoise Appledelhi. She goes by the name Radical Edward when hacking, and commonly spends the most time with Ein.
