Gtr2
forza 2 > all other racing games combined
TDU and nfs prostreet!
Though much fun The GT series are, they are not that realistic when it comes to some of it's competition.
LFS is by far the most realistic handling models out their. Even over that of the GT5 prologue demo that I played.
GTs down falls are no damage, Drop the clutch as much as you want don't worry!, Kiss that wall coming out of the turn it will only scrub a little time off. i ran some fast times in GT and I drove like shit. A real car would have burned the clutch and brakes out in two laps the way I drove.
Also NO on-line play for most of the games that have been mentioned. You could link GT but that did not go so well. Any of the games that you only raced ai should be a fail.

The Original Test Drive... Not from it being great or anything but from it being the last car driving game I played
GTR2 for sure the only game where I have blown a engine within 5 minutes of starting a race due to redlining on downshifts.
Dear God please let my karma one day reach 100, whether it be tomorrow or 1000 years in the future i want it to happen.
Test Drive Unlimited
For the PC of course.

Forza 2 is great, as is GTR2 (if you have a decent wheel, otherwise it's pretty tough) the GT series always felt a bit sluggish to me, as do the PGR titles.
