As far as I am concerned, everything from LeMans Prototype- to WTCC-games deticaded to that specific class / race type..... sux and makes me fall asleep....

Oh i forgot to mention Mafia. I know its a not based on driving but i loved driving cars in that game and with a wheel it would rock imo.

I liked the first Burnout. Tried it on the PS2 and XBOX, the latter having better graphics. It was fun at the time, but each Burnout after bested itself, but it's starting to be overdone.
Reckless driving FTW! Before that, it would have to be Vigilante on the PS. Your cars had weapons and you could play against bots or humans in large combat areas. Las Vegas, snowy mountains.
