Why not start from the beginning with Baldur's Gate "the original saga"? IMO still the best RPG of all time. Ice Wind Dale might also be worth trying and what I played of Ice Wind Dale II (which wasn't much) was good, except I personally really dislike AD&D third edition rules so never really got into the game.djphetal wrote:

And yeah, don't discount the adventure games just because they're not strictly "RPG." They can be really, really fun.
For that I think you'll have to move more into the adventure genre...Mek-Izzle wrote:
And can't they ever make an RPG that's realistic. None of that magic/elves/sci-fi/wizard/orc shit. Is there a realistic or realistic/historical RPG out there?

I thought the first Baldur's gate was MUCH better than the 2nd.... Might also try Neverwinter Nights... Knights of the Old Republic... And um... Geez, the last good one before that was ChronoTrigger... lol... I love good RPGs but they are so rare.DrunkFace wrote:

I don't see why an RPG game has to always have some sort of magic/wizard/sci-fi element.Hallvard wrote:
