LT, the forums aren't going to be destroyed, but posting and registration will be disabled.
Or maybe a fancy looking User Title Bar that shows which members where part of the BF2S community.
I guess you wouldn't want to do everyone though, maybe... people who have been year a year or more? and still active.
We've been with you much longer then anyone whos gunna sign up at Trackr for game discussion.
Nice. Looks cool.
Au revior bf2s, Vive la trackr!
Edit: Will trackr have ads also? Not that they bother me that much, just nice to know...

They are appointed as needed ... basically, Jeff (chuyskywalker, the site owner) picks mods based upon observing a mature and helpful posting style, or helpful community involvement. Sometimes, Jeff asks for nominations by the existing mods..Sup wrote:

I think chuy has invented a time machine, not enough hours in the day for all this. Amazing work. Way to go BF2sers, Godspeed.
Does that mean that the forum will finally have vBulletin?
It is not vBulletin ... but, are you talking about a specific feature of vBulletin?CapnNismo wrote:

I know the current forum is not using vBulletin for the format. But will the FUTURE forum be based on the vBulletin platform?
Pretty much every forum I know of uses vB and a few have some pretty cool features (streaming radio, games, etc.). I am sure that could be coded into a php forum, but vB is just so much more fluid and user friendly.

I would still like know this also. Will there be a new layout to a stat page for our BF2 stats?DoctaStrangelove wrote:

I also think it looked like a speedometer. My suggestion: Make the logo with a tint of GREEN behind it or something if its suppose to be a radar scan thing.
Can someone from the trackr team post screenshots of the forum layout? I'm curious as to how it's gonna look, or how its coming along
Are we gonna have the BF2 game servers anymore?
Are the server names gonna change from BF2s.com U.S Server to Trackr.com??
Does this mean I'm no longer an admin for the server!?

It's a little more than that. You know those nature shows of scientists capturing and tagging animals so they can keep track of their movement and numbers? It's kinda like that.

No, it is not being built on vBulletin. The new site's "engine" is Drupal, which allows for the integration of quite a few new features.CapnNismo wrote:

And, actually, the new site does have a games section.
Stats will be available.Im_Dooomed wrote:

The current trackr is just "functional", and (I hope) the eventual site looks nothing like it does right now. TBH, it is a little ugly. Some of the more talented graphic artists from BF2s were invited to take a stab at creating a quality look.Im_Dooomed wrote:

There is a thread in the admin area about this. You haven't read it?Im_Dooomed wrote:

You will still be a game server admin. I don't think roles are going to change just because we upgrade the forum engine & change the site URL.Im_Dooomed wrote:

Nice, I'm excited for it to come out!
I love that on the sample pic it has the latest forum threads "Secret site isn't so secret"

Wow big news (only just read it).
BF2s has been a big part of the last few years. It'll be a shame to see it 'go'.
On the other hand, moving on to a new forum will be quite exciting.
Keep up the great jobs everyone .
One very important question though, and I must know.
Will we still be able to do this:

Kinda agree that bf2s will struggle for relevance once the game Bf2 goes into oblivion and a milestone in gaming history. Having among the earliest members, kinda sucks to see it go but it is a change for the better, imho.

I dislike dropping PunBB, but meh. I'll probably not bother to bookmark it.
