How do you know that the new people registering are the people you know?
For example, I could register as say, Noobest, what's to stop me?
Although, you could sign up at a friends house with a different IP, that could throw things off, but they could compare Surgeon's IP with that of Noosha's, and they would see it would be the same.
Lots of work, but it's the only way to know. And why would people do it anyway?
What? It would work, wouldn't it?The Sheriff wrote:

I don't know, but people have impersonated me in practically every game. I wouldn't be surprised if someone tried to use my name on forums too.Ryan wrote:

"people in ny have a general idea of how to drive. one of the pedals goes forward the other one prevents you from dying"
No, people would do it for the aforementioned "lulz".Ryan wrote:

Besides, the mods aren't going to check every ip versus the ip's of the previous user at bf2s.
Exactly. So I guess we just have to trust the members of these forums and hope that they are honest. The Sheriff wrote:

Well, if you (see: those who are in on the dev. of trackr) and Chuy think this is for the best, albeit the forums on the new site will be "disappointing," then I'll stick with this awesome collaboration of people and make the transfer as well.
The way Chuy started out the message though, I was expecting BF2S to be shut down and the switch to be made really soon, say, like, next week or something like that. But in actuality BF2S is going nowhere, and it's going to be like 3/4 of the way through 2008 or so before anything is going to happen on this side of trackr (the non-dev. team side), i.e. us being able to finally access the site and register.
So, I guess I'll join my BF2S brethren in awaiting the arrival of the day trackr goes public, and keep track of the dev. team's progress, making sure to help spam the server(s) on that first day when everyone quickly registers to keep their good ol' BF2S names.
See you on the other side guys, whenever that is. In the meantime, long live BF2S!

Will the stats page still be available?
I too thought the logo was a speedometer.
why is everybody saying they are gonna miss this? everybody is gonna go to this trackr thing, and its gonna be bf2s(2).
I believe that the stats page (similar to, if not) from BF2S will be there..... I could be wrong though. At the least it will be linked (right?)CrazeD wrote:

Anyway, as to the whole userbar/honor/bf2s whatever-
Sure it won't be elitist. Karma isn't. Oh wait..........

The new site needs a museum. Then we can showcase bf2s.

Aye true, good to see you Mr. Bond.
Interesting times ahead no doubt, Jeff's been putting a lot of effort into this and just watching it evolve is quite exciting, (and frustrating given that I can offer no help whatsoever because I'm fairly illiterate in things of this nature.) I don't assume to have any authority at Trackr but of course will be there proudly contributing to the fine community as always.
End of an era eh? We must have a send-off party. Even if we don't I'll drink like we were having one.
