I will be there though.
In a way i feel this might be bringing us together somehow??
@Mitch I hope so.
I agree, I always talk to my RL friends about bf2s and they're like, "...Didn't you stop playing that game months ago?" I think that while the name isn't amazingly fitting, it's not unfitting anymore.kylef wrote:
Guys, don't think of this as the end of BF2s; but more the beginning of Trackr. Once you've moved over, I guarantee that you'll love it and wonder just why you were sad beforehand. Sure, a lot will be different.. but change is a good thing! Let's face it, having www.bf2s.com / www.cod4s.com / www.tf2s.com etc all wouldn't be the best. This way, the entire community gets rolled together nice and smoothly.OrangeHound wrote:

I honestly think this wont work, my 2 cents.
Orangehound confirmed the karma will be gone a few posts ago.
And there isnt a diffinative answer on whether we have to make a new account, but if Chuy can figure out how to migrate the users over we wont, if he cant, then we will need new accs.
Just read.
OK, for those who cannot solve the puzzle, here's the answer: it has been discussed, and at the moment there are no plans to put Karma on trackr
Very excited about this news Chuy. I agree with you completely. BF2s is getting old, and we have expanded into so much more than just battlefield 2, we need something new.
But eh, it read some things about hold members etc. So I think we should keep our accounts if possible and maybe get a veteran title as well, that be kickass
I have never had so many people agree with my idea on Bf2s.RDMC wrote:

I know fucking karate
Thank you for your positive comments on my post guys, I really do appreciate it. I hope that you guys are right, and that this is just a necessary evolutionary event for the BF2S gaming community. I think 2 things really stick out and bother me about this radical change:
1. Battlefield 2 is dying. I have grown to love this game more than any other. I love to play with my clan and my mates, but these events occur less and less with each passing month. I enjoy visiting this site for helpful tidbits on the game, listen to people complain of hackers and cruel admins, and share their war stories. I think that the end of this site will help to expedite the eventual end of the BF2 gaming community, and for this reason this is personal.
2. I have grown to love the daily visits to read through the forums and generally escape reality. I can come hear and listen to OrangeHound, Cowami, KptK92, Kylef, USMARINE, Jord, CamronPoe, and the many, many other regulars chime in on various topics. These are names I know; these are names that I instantly recognize and can identify with. However, anytime something expands, a dilution will occur. Instead of knowing 50% of all the posters, you suddenly know 10%, and that I think will make the new forums less substantial.
I hope that I am wrong, and that things improve overall. I will definitely give trakr a try, but I can see the eventual end of the "tight-knit" feeling that these forums convey. I don't want to be a storm crow or piss in anyones Cherrios, but these are my honest feelings.

After reading these posts, I agree that karma should be gone and BF2s Veteran badges should be given out.
Only thing I don't agree with is the sig rules. I know, I've complained about it before, but really, I've never heard of any forum with sig rules so strict.
I haven't made a new signature in months because of this rule, and it's really starting to get at me. I want to make sigs like I used to, and show them off and actually use them on a forum.

Regarding accounts, YES you will need to make a new account on trackr.
This is a different "engine". You get all the account features of BF2s, plus you will get these new account features:

- Ability to list the game you are currently playing (Team Fortress 2), and the games that you play (CS:S, WoW, BF2, BF2142, Age of Empires, etc.)

- Ability to create and join "groups" of users, such as a Graphics Group, a Cool Group, the TF2 Group, an IRC group ... you can send PMs to all the subscribers of your group, post messages just for your group, etc.
- Ability to now have a personal bio
- Link to your game stats for multiple games: BF2, TF2, etc.

Haha. Nice.
I'm going to take a guess here and wager that at least 90% of your more "known" members - kyle, ryan, hurri, usm, gunslinger, kp, surgeons...what a long list... - are going to make the switch. Whereas the more inactive members won't. So I think we'll be just fine.

Good question. At least PMs ... hmmm, I don't know about the posts since I am working in the "god-view" and see everything.SamTheMan:D wrote:

1) There are more community sites out there for BF2 (but they are shit)GravyDan wrote:

2) BF2s will stay running, but the forums wont. AFAIK, stats and UBAR are staying, forum/wiki is moving (correct me if Im wrong Chuy)
3) The same sorts of topics will still be posted on trackr...just means they will be in a different place.
In some respects, I agree. Such a massive move and piece of news will mean that some members are lost in the transition, that is inevitable.GravyDan wrote:

The only problem I see, is if people change their forum names - that is when it gets confusing. If people stick to their names used on BF2s (I urge you all too, please!!!) then I dont see a problem.

On this veteran badge thing. It seems a bit elitist to me...
One other great feature for clans!
Instead of having this crap thread: http://forums.bf2s.com/viewtopic.php?id=21001
On trackr, clans can register and update themselves in the clan database. They can list all their information, show their clan logo, show all the games they are playing, show where they are located (Western US, China, Australia, etc), show whether or not they are recruiting, etc. And, a user can sort on the clan listing if they are searching for a particular type of clan. A much better system for the clans!

Right now, yes ... but I'm sure that would be changed. The site is still in the larval stage ...NooBesT wrote:

So will trackr be supporting information on all the latest games, like CoD4, TF2, Portal, Crysis, etc, and as new game come out, they get added to site for discussion?
