I've got a problem where whenever I join a server the loading bar reaches half way then hangs. I can't open a single player game either when I do I get a CTD. Any suggestions

Not really sure try deleting the 2142 folder in "My Documents" usually fixes all my problems

you dont have to reinstall and its not punkbuster go to your 2142 folder look for the radial.cdm file and re name it to whatever you want. load game then kill stuff.
edit the radial file is usually hidden so make sure you un check the thingy that allows you to see your hidden files and folders.

BullettRiddled is 100% right. I had the same problem, when loading it would take forever to get to 50-60% then freeze. I did the same thing Riddled mentions and I've not had a problem since. Don't worry about renaming the file, go ahead and rename it the game will automatically create a new one.

go an play cod4.. i only played multiplayer a few times.. and not once has it froze.

reinstall the patch, i was having some really bad probs tried most of the above, but didnt seem to work, but reinstalled the patch and all is ok
Thanks everyone, the thing that solved my problem was to delete a file in the bf2142 game folder called radial.cdb and let the game rebuild it

well i have once again got probs, can find the radial folder to delete, HOW THE HELL DO I FIND IT, tried showing hidden files no joy

There is a solution for the map only getting halfway that seems to work for most people, which is:
