Hello, I have a Dell XPS Gen 2 laptop with :
1gig ram
NVIDIA GeForce Go 6800 256Mb]

But whenever I run battlefield 2 online, the shadows look all pixely and it looks bad, and when I go to exit to go into game it tells me I should run the Nvidia updater.

So when I run is it is about to start the installation and it tells me that it cannot detect a nvidia driver that is compatible.

SO I post on EA's forums and they say that bf2 was not tested on laptop displays so it is not garunteed to work.

I Need to know, does anyone else have a 6800 Go and or a 7800 Go, basically any Nvidia Go series graphics card and has Battlefield 2? If so does it work/run porperly without using the updater? Because That was just a borrowed bf2 and I am contemplating buying it today.

Thanks

I don't have the standard laptop screen, I have a LCD screen, not plasma. There are no wierd looking pixels you see if you look from the side, mine has glass/plastic over the front.

I play BF2 on a i9300 with the 6800 go card. The game works perfectly and the 17in. 1920x1200 screen is just sexy. However, I did have some driver problems at first. Check out http://www.notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=74626 and it's corresponding forum at http://www.notebookforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=153 to find better drivers etc. You should be able to find good info there... I did.
